ZIEGLER, FREDERICK, 67, Coalfield, formerly of Wartburg, died Dec. 22, 2000.  He retired from the Army after 20 years of service.  He taught vocational electronics in Roane County and was also retired from the Wartburg Post Office.  Preceded by first wife Carol Ziegler; parents Frederick and Florence Ziegler and mother in law, Callie Jones.  Survivors: wife of 14 years, Velva Jones Ziegler; son, Brian Ziegler of Kingston and finacee Misty Davis and her son, Skylar of Wartburg; daughters, Connie Bray and finacee Don Pickard of Coalfield; Lisa Chapman and husband John of Gray and Suzanne Ziegler of Maryville; grandsons, Eric Chapman, Tyler Melton, Jessie Keith and Dre (?) Ziegler; granddaughter Jessica Chapman; brother and sister-in-law, Terry and Debbie Ziegler of Mich.; sister and brother-in-law Carol and Bill Domino of Utah.  Burial in Mt. ZUMSTEIN, DONALD GENE - age 74 of West Knoxville, died Monday, March 20, 2006 at Baptist Medical Center West. Don was a retired Lt. Col. with the United States Air Force, serving as a pilot and an active member of The Order of Daedalians. Don attended West Emory Presbyterian Church and was a graduate of Warren Wilson College, receiving his B.S. and Masters degree from Troy State University. Don was preceded in death in 2001 by: his loving wife of 45 years, Betty K. Zumstein; and son, Steven Eric Zumstein. He is survived by: his devoted wife, Sandra Swann Zumstein and her children and grandchildren; son and daughter-in-law, Ronald and Cindy Zumstein; grandchildren Benjamin Donald, Emily Ann and Steven Keller Zumstein; brother, Russell Zumstein and his children, Gary Zumstein and Janice Buffler. Family and friends will meet at the Adair Rd. entrance to Lynnhurst Cemetery by 1:45 p.m. Thursday for a 2:00 p.m. graveside service with Dr. George K. {Pete} Preston, III officiating. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to: the Muscular Dystrophy Association, P.O. Box # 53145, Knoxville, TN, 37950. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday and 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. Thursday at Rose Mortuary Mann Heritage Chapel. [Knoxville News Sentinel]

ZUMSTEINEDWARD W.,   75, formerly of Morgan County, died, in Georgia. He was born near Catoosa 11/7/1889 to the late Charles A. & Mary Headrick Zumstein.  Preceded by wife, Ethel Williams Zumstein who died in 1950.  Survivors: daughter, Mrs. Kathryn Buff; 2 grandchildren; sisters, Mrs. M. ZUMSTEIN, HAZEL WEATHERFORD, 50, died Oct. 26, 1956


ZUMSTEIN, RUBY BLAKE, 87, of Panama City, Fla., formerly of the Pine Orchard Community, died Dec. 27, 2002 in Panama City.  She was a member of the Pine Orchard Baptist Church.  She was preceded in death by her husbands, Jessie Robinson and Joseph E. Zumstein.  She is survived by her daughter, Betty Y. Masaitis of Pensacola, Fla.; grandchild, Rana J. Penn of Panama City and great-grandchildren Alex and Mia Penn.  The family will receive friends Friday, Jan. 3, from 10 to 11:30 a.m. at the Pine Orchard Baptist Church.  Graveside services will follow in Pine Orchard Cemetery.  Evans Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.  [Roane County News]


ZUMSTEIN, SHIRLEY MAE,  59,  died June 5, 2000 in Hohenwald, TN.  She was born Sept. 28, 1940 in Camp Austin, a daughter of the late Edward Gus and Ethyl Stewart Headrick.  She was married to Joe Zumstein.  Preceded by a brother, Ray Headrick.  Survivors include her husband and a son, Mark Andrew Zumstein; daughter, Julie Reeves; two brothers, Louis Headrick and Robert Headrick; four sisters, Ruth Kreis, Rema Kreis, Reba Honeycutt and Faye Cogdill; grandson, Holden Reeves and step-granddaughter, Sasha Reeves.  Burial in New Hope Cemetery.  [Morgan County News]
