S. A. GALLOWAY

Samuel Adley Galloway, born January 17, 1864, and was transferred to his mansion in Heaven January 16, 1940. He was married to Mary Elizabeth Peters, Oct. 7, 1886. To this union was born nine children, eight of whom are still living: Mrs. Emma Garrett, Huntsville; Mrs. Charles Hughes, Oakdale; Mrs. T.L. Curry, Opelika, Ala; Mrs. Grover Pemberton, Oneida; Mrs. William Coen, Danville, Ky.; sons: George, Evans and Samuel Chaffin Galloway all of Burrville; ten grand children and four great grand children; also two sisters, Mrs. Dan Young, Sunbright and Mrs. L.D. McCormick of Frankfort. Three Brothers; L. P. Galloway, Louisville, Ky., George C. Galloway, Battle Creek, Mich., and T.C. Galloway of Burrville.

He was born into the family of the Lord Jesus Christ at the age of 26 and was sanctified a few years later at a Holiness revival held in the Methodist church at Burrville by the Rev. James M. Taylor.

OH! How he loved to tell the story of Jesus where ever he went. He was a loving husband and father. His house was a house of prayer--a home with a family altar. As we look back over the years what an example he was. There was never a time or place that he would not stand up for God and the right. There never was a cloud so dark that he could not seem to see the light shining through. He believed and professed the old time Holy Ghost Religion. And today we fancy we can see his shining face as he walks the streets of the Glory World, shaking hands with his sainted mother and father, other loved ones and freinds who have gone before.

As he lay on his bed of sickness, those of us who waited on him come to know him as a wonderful patient. He would repeat the word of God and pray (Thy Will--not mine.) He prasied the Lord all the way to the end. He called his wife and children to him and asked them to be good and meet him in Heaven.

OH! How thankful we are for a loving father and mother who have taught us the way to Heaven; and with God's help we will meet Him one by one, in the land where we never grow old and what a happy meeting it will be.
So sleep on Dear Dad in peaceful sleep. You're weary days are o'er and to your Savior you have gone to yonder Golden Shore.
