This contract made this the 25th day of October in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and eighty between J. F. Patterson and his wife C. A. Patterson of the first part and J. J. Carrington of the 2nd part. Witnesseth that the said party of the first part in consideration of the sum of nine hundred dollars in hand paid the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged have granted, bargained, and sell unto the said party of the 2nd part, his heirs, and assigns all that piece or parcel of land lying in the 4th civil dist. Perry County Tennessee on the waters of Deer Creek Bounded as follows Beginning on the top of the hill in the north and south boundary line of H. H. Long runs east with a conditional line between H. H. Long and J. F. Patterson through a lane crossing Deer Creek to John Hughlett's line Thence in an East direction crossing said Hughlett's line Thence South with Hughlett's line to E. J. Leans (?) -- corner Thence West with Leans west line to John Hughlett's line and with said Hughlett's line to J. J. Carrington's East boundary line. Thence with said Carrington's line to the beginning containing by estimation 150 acres more or less together with the appurtenances thereunto belonging and all the estate right title interest claim and demand of the said party of the first part herein and the said J. T. and C. A. Patterson parties of the first part hereby expressly waiver release relinquish and convey unto the said party of the 2nd part his heirs executors administrators and assigns all rights title claim interest and benefits whatsoever in and to the above described premises and each and every part there of which is given by or result from any and all laws of the state pertaining to the exemption of homestead and the said J. F. and C. A. Patterson for themselves and their heirs executors and administrators
