Help needed! I am trying locate information on my gggg grandparents,Thomas Evans and his wife Clarissa? Thomas. They lived in ChesterCo., Pa., but came to Carter County in about 1807. Their son JohnGodfrey Evans was born in Pa. in 1795. In 1823, he married EleanorMusgrave, daughter of Robert Musgrave, in Carter County. A second son, William F. Evans, was born in 1805 in Botentour,County Va., just north of Carter Co., Tn. William F. attended schoolin Carter County. His father, Thomas Evans, died in about 1820-21, Iassume in Carter County. In about 1824, Clarissa, his widow, John Godfrey, his son andseveral Musgrave and Evans relatives moved on the Monroe County,Kentucky. I have found an 1850 from Greene County census stating James Thompsonb.1812 age 38 yrs and wife Mary "Polly" White and all their knownchildren. The part I didn't expect to find was at the bottom of thepage is written in "Thomas Thompson, age 65, can't write"James and Polly had five dtrs and only one son, also named Thomas. Ibelieve old Thomas is James' father. and at 65 would have been bornin 1785.Can anyone back this up??? Will share information gladly

I am searching for info on a John Wood who was supposedly tomahawkedby Indians in the spring of 1780 at Jonesboro. Will recorded atWashington County TN but I can find no administration. Will citesland owned in Bedford Va as well as unidentified properties. A revwar pension declaration of James Pearce says that he put together avolunteer company to fight the Indians and keep them from crossingthe river and attacking the settlement after they had killed one manin the spring of 1780 at Lick Creek and Beaver Dam. Where would thisbe? Could this be John Wood above that was killed? What happened toJohn's TN property after his death?

Looking for info on Robert Fields BARNETT who was an early settler ofTennessee and served in the War of 1812. Robert had a son William A.Barnett born in TN 9/10/1808. The family moved to S. IL in 1830 toAlexander Co. Il then to Johnson Co. Il. They came to Il travelingon the Tennessee and Ohio River, landing in Cairo. Robert FieldsBarnett was said to have married a Cherokee. Robert Fields Barnettis my GGG- grandfather. Any information about him would greatly beappreciated.

My grandfather was Claude R. ARNOLD born in NC/TN 1902-1972 m.12-24-1924 to Rosa Ellen LINDAMOOD. His parents were John M. ARNOLD1873-? and Maggie (or Mary) A. HALL 1874-1952. I have been told thatJohn and Maggie once lived on an Indian Reservation in Parker, NC andthat many of the children were born there. John can be traced backas such: Thomas Ware ARNOLD 1847-1931 m. Astoria MAHOOD, John R.ARNOLD 1808-1872 m. Nancy KING, William C. ARRENDELL/ARNOLD 1781-1860m. unknown, John ARRENDELL/ARNOLD 1760-1823 m. Mary ?. Maggie wasthe daughter of James R. HALL 1848-1918 and Elizabeth J. ARNOLD. James was the son of William HALL 1808-1878 and Elizabeth ARNOLD1815-?.
