Welcomb William Hodge, landgrant in 1790 hawkinscounty, tn for 500
acres on youngs creek. adjacent to ambrosehodge(s) and john hodge(s).
any info on these 3 men needed. i amdescended from jesse hodge(s) and

Abednego Inman and Mary Ritchie Inman(married 1777), who settled

any CARMICAL/CARMICHAEL's in the Knoxville area before1796. In 1748,

Am searching for the names
and birth year of the children of GeorgeW.SHARP who was the son of
Henry SHARP, Sr. and Barbara GRAVES SHARPwho settled in SHARPS
STATION, in what was then Claiborne County,Tennessee. George, who
was born in 1775, was the next to youngestchild with other siblings

I realize that this is doubtless a shot in the
dark, but does anyonehave any information on the descendants of
William Woods (b ABT 1725)who was the son of William Woods (b IRE ABT
1695) of North Carolina.The 1695 William was the brother of Michael
Woods of Blair Park andeventually settled on the Hycotee River in
what is now Orange CountyNC. His son, the 1725 William, as the story
goes, left the HycoteeRiver homestead very early on and moved to the
the area thateventually became Jonesborough (current Washington
County) TN. Ofcourse, since Jonesborough didn't become a town until
1779 or so, I'mnot sure what it was called then. One possible clue is
that William'ssister Mary supposedly accompanied him there, and she
was married toa man named Strain. Thanks.

I am having difficulty
confirming the parents of James Lane. Ibelieve that he is the son of
Martin Lane, a Captain in the NorthCarolina Regiment of the U.S.
Revolution. James and Martin are shownon the 1820 Census from Giles
County, Tenn. The age for James, hiswife Mary and daughter are
consistent with the census abstract. Afamily researcher has given
James' birthdate as 2 Oct 1795 and abirthplace of Tenn. Martin was
the son of Barnabas Lane, brother ofJoel Lane and was born in N.C.
Martin migrated west after theRevolutionary War and may have stayed
over in eastern Tenn. beforemoving on to Giles County, Tenn. Thank
