Searching for information on Lydia MORRIS, wife
of Henry CROSS, earlysettler of Greene Co & recipient of NC Land
grants in the Lick Creekarea. Family tradition has her father as
Shadrack MORRIS & mother asRuth. A Shadrack Morris is also
frequently found in early Greene Corecords, but his age seems more
appropriate as a brother, rather thanfather of Lydia. Known children
of Lydia and Henry CROSS wereShadrack, b. abt 1783, and Dorcas. In a
Goodspeed interview abt1899, grandson Francis M. Cross stated that
his grandparents wereboth from Maryland. If correct, this casts
further doubt on ShadrackMorris as Lydia's father as he is believed
to be a native ofTennessee. Would appreciate any confirmation (or
debunking) ofLydia's relationship to Shadrack Morris and her
birthplace - MD orTN.

I am looking for any decendants of Daniel BOWERS. I do
know hemarried a Julie CANNON, Who would have been my grandmother.
She diedas a young woman. Daniel had been married to other women
unknownnames before Julie. He married a Mattie LEWIS after Julie.
Julieand Daniel Bowers were married according to Carter County
records,June 28, 1998. However, this could have been when the
marriage wasrecorded. Julie died possibly around 1900-1905. My
father was Danieland Julie's son...Earl was a whole brother older
than my father...orso I am told, however, my father did not remember
his mother. Hebelieved he was about three years old when she died.
This is whatmakes me think the marriage record is recorded wrong. My
fatherthought he was born October 8 1896 or 1897. Earl was possibly
two orthree years older. A whole sister named Rhea or (Raid) I think
shemay have married a Clayton GENTRY. There was a sister named
LenaBowers who may have married a PRESLEY. Daniel may have had
