Searching for the parents of my 4th
great grandmother, Martha W. aka"Patsy". Listed as the consort of
Rev. John MANLY on her tombstonein Henry Co., Tennessee. She and
John left Stewart Co. around 1820and were among the first settlers in
Henry Co. She was born about1791 (possibly in Anson Co., NC as
was John) and died on 12 Feb 1822.I believe the families were in
Montgomery Co., TN for a time beforecoming to Stewart. Martha and
John married about 1811 or 1812(likely Stewart Co). They named their
first son William CharlesManly. The Manly migration seems to
coincide with the migration ofseveral families including possible "W"
families WALLACE, WILLIAMSand WYNNS. Also HOGAN, ATKINS and LILLY.
