anything about the relationship between John MORRELLand John

North Carolina in the early 1790's, a jury wasseated and a mistrial
declared for lack of "sufficient substance tofound a judgment on."
The record contains no further informationabout the nature of the

According to his tombstone, Jethro HOWELL was
born May 3, 1798 inNorth Carolina, married Elzabeth WHITE in Maury
County, TN on March27, 1822, and he died May 18, 1850 in Maury
County. Elizabeth wasborn March 6, 1803 in Maury County. We do not
know what happened toher after Jethro died.Jethro and Elizabeth had 4
children, Welthy (female)- b. 1823,Brinkley J. (male) - b. 1824,
Annie - b. 1826, and George Washington- b. 1828. Brinkley stayed in
Maury County and died there.George Washington HOWELL, Jethro's son,
went to Perry County, Alabamain 1850 and eventually had 5 children by
2 wives in Alabama. GeorgeW. gave rise to several descendants who
have been tracing his linefor the last 2 years. We are now looking now
for Jethro HOWELL's parents. Most likely, they came to Maury County
from North Carolina early in the 1800's. Any information that would
connect Jethro HOWELL to any of thenumerous other HOWELLs on the
migration trail from NC to TN and on tocentral Alabama would be
