George Washington GLOVER married Charlotte
DICKENS. Charlotte (Ibelieve) was the aunt of my great-great
grandfather Edward GloverDICKENS, b 1812-1815 in Tennessee, son of
John DICKENS, possiblySmith County or Sumner County. Edward
moved to Iowa in the 1830'sand was one of the first settlers in
Clayton County. (He built thefirst log cabin there.) In the 1860
census a young man named FelixG. DICKENS (the G stands for GLOVER, I
believe) was in Edward'shousehold. Felix G. DICKENS of Smith County
later fought in the Armyof Tennessee, 28th infantry, company G, from
09-07-1861 until 1865. Does anyone have any information on George
Washington GLOVER orthe DICKENS family? Obviously the DICKENS family
thought fondly ofhim if they named their children after him! Any
help you can give isappreciated. My web page is
