GIST, MORRISON, HOLLIS

I am looking for any information regarding the man named Thomas Gist, whose estate was probated bwt. 1850-1853 in Wayne Co., TN.James Hollis was appointed administrator. I don't see the final court minutes on this matter which may have named any heirs. Thomas may have been the father of the man named Aaron Gist, whose marriage record to Elizabeth Morrison, on 15 Feb. 1832, is posted as coming from the bible record of Edward Morrison.Aaron Gist and wife Elizabeth may be the parents of James Harvey Gist, who was living in Marion Co., AL., by 1860. James Harvey Gist stated on his civil war papers that he was born in Wayne Co., KY., in Feb. 1836, but now I wonder if he was born in Wayne Co. TN.Family legend tells that James H. Gist's mother had a surname something like "Morrow-something", (Morrison, perhaps ?).I do find an Aaron Gist in Whitley Co., KY., in 1850 with a son James, age 13 (c1837) in his home, with wife Mary, c1845 KY.Thanks for any help or info.

John had Jeremiah, b. ca 1787 inOrange Co., NC and probably Joel, b. 1789 in Orange Co., NC (Joelmarried Sarah Phillips and they were in the 1820 census of WilliamsonCo., TN but not found in any later record)by his first wife beforemigrating to Canada with his second wife, Nancy Judge and his brotherThomas (both adopted the surname of Ghent in Canada). In 1806, John marriedEsther Lovens with whom he had 10 children whose names and vitals Ihave (from his family bible). All of this information and much more on the descendants of John Gant(1713-1783) of Colonial VA and NC in a book about him publishedearlier this year.Any help will be appreciated
