Suggestions for posting a successful query

Be concise, but don't abbreviate to the point where it's unintelligible!

Proof read your query carefully on the Preview screen before submitting it. While we may edit the query as necessary to fit our format, we will not be responsible for correcting typos.

Choose your county/counties carefully. Once received, our volunteers must manually screen and add your query to their pages, so please be considerate when deciding upon counties. If you do not have a degree of confidence that your surname of interest relates to a given county, please do not submit to that county. If you make a mistake when selecting a county, just click on the location again to "erase" your selection.
