My grgrgrandmother
(Margaret) she was to be full Indian. All I haveis she married Thomas
DUKE, he was from NC and 40 years her senior.They were found on the
Taney Co Mo 1860 census. Their childrenlisted, Ann,John, Arretta and
Claricey. Arretta my grgrandmothermarried Eli SLAGLEY in Taney Co.
They moved to Marion Co Ar, raisedtheir family and both are buried

Looking for information about William L. HUNT who
married Nancy J.COLWELL on January 1st, 1868 in Blount County,
Maryville, Tennessee. William HUNT took the surname of the Hunt
family that had raised himand his siblings. The information desired
is to find the biologicalname of William. This couple are the parents
of Samuel SylvesterHUNT, grandparents of Lillian HUNT STEVENS,
great-grandparents ofKenneth L. STEVENS of Farnam, Nebraska. They

Seeking my daughter's Cherokee heritage. My
mother-in-law told methat one of her gr-gr-grandmothers was F/B
Cherokee. This wouldeither be Mary Jane YOUNG, bd.? or Elizabeth
TROUT, b.1830-d.1896. M.J.YOUNG married Alviso NEEDLES and had a son,
Harold NEEDLESb.4/10/??. Elizabeth TROUT married Abraham(?) J.
BRAKEb.1828-d,1885. They had a son, George McClellan
BRAKEb.6/?/1864-d.1940 who married Rachael
HARTSOCKb.2/28/1867-d,12/21/1950. They raised 6 kids near Gahanna,
east ofColumbus, OH. Their daughter, Mildred BRAKE married Harold
NEEDLES &are my daughter's g-gr.parents. Not sure if M.J. YOUNG or

Holland THOMAS, he was not Cherokee but was awhite chief who married
a cherokee lady, possibly the chief'sdaughter. My grand mother lived
on the reservation in NC when she wasa little girl her father was

My African American gr-grandfather John H.
Mitchell was born inIllinois in 1848 and in 1878 married Lottie
(Charlottie?) Breden (b.1861, IL). 1880 IL Census lists Lottie as
Black also, though thereis a question among family members as to
whether the Bredens mighthave been White. John and Lottie's fathers
(Mitchell/Breden) wereboth from Tennessee, County unknown at this
time. John and Lottie hadnine Mitchell children: Effa (b.1880 IL,
Zachariah (b.1875, IL),Edger (b. 1882, IL), Mabel (b.1885, IL), Sarah
(b.1886, KS), Lottie(b.1888, KS), Alice (b. 1893, OK) Daisy (b.1895,
OK) and Gladys (b.1900, OK). The Mitchells migrated from Macoupin
