Searching for the Civil War record of Henry Pinkney FITE who was bornin Lewis Co., TN in 1838. According to his wife Margaret CHRISTIANFITE he did serve in the War and died during the time it was goingon. Margaret kept the letters she had received from him while he wasaway and enjoyed having them read to her by her granddaughter in theyears before she died. Henry Pinkney "Pink" FITE was the son of Jacob FITE, b. 1791 in NCand Elizabeth CROWELL., b. 1804 in NC. He married Margaret FenoCHRISTIAN, daughter of Isom D. My husband is trying to trace the Native American branches of hisfamily , but many won't even admit to having Cherokee blood. Any helpin finding a Mollie YORK,greatgreatgrandmother, believed to have beenborn in OK. Foundf 4 YORKS on the Dawes Rolls, but no Mollie. Thereis also a greatgrandmother, other side, who was on the trail oftears. she was taken in by a soldier by the name of HILL in arkansas,we do not know her name, reported to be a Native American name. My grandfather was Robert Franklin HIPPS born at Old Washington, TN,26 April 1896. His father was John Henry HIPPS, born 25 December1865 in or around Cherokee, NC. John Henry's mother, whose name mayhave been Gina, left her husband, John HIPPS, and brought young JohnHenry and his sister, Mary (born 1868), to the Rhea-Roane county areaof Tennessee. We don't know why she did this. We do know that sometime later John HIPPS also came to Tennessee and took Mary back toNorth Carolina. Does anyone have any information on John HIPPS, GinaHIPPS, Mary HIPPS?

my great grandfather was Eugine Lavarsha "E.L." NUNNELEE. He was born21 Nov 1847 possibly in Savannah, Georgia. He enlisted in CSA fromAuburn, Macon Co, Al at age 14 (1862); after the war he moved toTexas where he died 1909 Hill Co, Tx. He was well educated before age14 and made his living as school teacher. I am told that my great-grandmother, Sylvania Isabella HARBIN, waspart Cherokee. She married a man named HANES, and had a daughternamed Ida Mallie. Ida Mallie HANES married Charles Wesley VAUGHAN. Ifound a Daisy HARBIN (#43164)from GA on the Guion Miller Roll. I haveno idea if they are related. Any help would be appreciated. I imagineSyvania was born somewhere in the mid 1800's.
