WATER TANK HILL CEMETERY
In the 1930's or early 1940's when the TVA came to Decatur County, some graves were dug into at the location known as Water Tank Hill. The late Dr. R. Y. Fisher (deceased 1935) protested the fact that the graves were removed. According to several people interviewed, Dr. Fisher's mother was buried there, but he didn't know the exact location of her grave. The remains that had been unearthed were placed in the Parsons City Cemetery. There were several sunken places to indicate that graves could have been there. According to Mr. Jack Rushing, who lived nearby for many years, there could have been as many as 8 to 10 graves there.
This cemetery was indexed by Margarett Alexander on February 8, 1981.
