Funeral for Mrs Sarah Green, Sunday

Beloved Rockwood Woman Passes Friday After Suffering Stroke July 28

Funeral services for Mrs. Sarah Minic Green, aged 80, who died Friday night at the home of her daughter, Mrs. George Smith, were conducted Sunday from the First Methodist Church by the pastor, the Rev. W.R. Rollins. Dr. James C. Orr assisted. Interment was in the Oddfellows Cemetery.

A large number of sorrowing friends were in attendance and the floral tributes were many and beautiful.

Mrs. Green was born March 26, 1866 in Rhea County, and came to Rockwood in 1916. Her husband, Thomas Jefferson Green, died March 8, 1921.She united with the Friendship Methodist Church near Rhea Springs in early life, and moved her membership to Rockwood when she came here to live.She was faithful in attendance and lived a beautiful Christian life.The day she was stricken, Sunday, July 28,Mrs. Green had prepared to go to Sunday School, but had been persuaded by her daughter it would be too tiring on such a warm day.
