Mrs. Lela Newcome, age 88, passed away Sunday, December 15,1968, at the
Chamberlain Memorial Hospital. Funeral services were conducted Wednesday ,
December 18, 1968, from the
Pond Grove Baptist Church at 2:30 p.m. with Rev. Fayte Wilson and Rev. Charles
Kelly officiating.
Surviving are five sons, Leonard, Houston, Fred, Paul and
Edsel Newcome all of Rockwood ; three daughters, Mrs. Clema Watson, Rockwood ;
Mrs. Anderson Branam, Newport, Tenn. ; Mrs. Carl Tankersley, Chattanooga, Tenn.
; one sister, Mrs. Minnie Remer, Dandridge, Tenn. ; Twenty-five grand-children
and 2 great-grand-children.
Interment in Roane Memorial Gardens with Booth Funeral Home in charge of
arrangements. Dec. 15, 1968.
