Looking for a MARTHA CATRON who may have died in Scott Co. in 1953 or 1954.  She would have been 102 years old. cannot find in death index but CATRON may not have been the name she died under. But she was married to an AARON CATRON in Wayne Co. Ky.  Last known on her was that she was living with one of her daughters in Oneida Tn.   Daughters names are SALLY LEE, MARY CAROLINE, EMMA, NANCY JANE, and TILDA ANN.   I know this is a real needle in a haystack but anyone that has a any information on Martha or one of her daughters please contact me.

If anyone is searching BROWNs of Scott Co. do you know if ELVINA BROWN is sister to MOSES BROWN and ELMIRAH BROWN. In the 1860 census it list JOHN BROWN and wife NANCY with a child EVALINE.  I am wondering if that should be ELVINA and the census taker got the spelling wrong. I cannot find ELVINA anywhere else in the census. Appreciate any help.

Hello: My name is CARL BARGER. I am researching my Gr-Gr-Grandfather, ALLEN BARGER and his wife NANCY BULLOCK. I would like to know if NANCY BULLOCK may have come from your county. I think she may have married ALLEN BARGER sometime around 1830-35. ALLEN lived in BLEDSOE Co. during the 1837-39 years. He and NANCY had two children that were listed in the 1840 federal census for Ripley Co. Mo. Both children gave that they were born in Tn. I would like any information on either ALLEN or NANCY. Also, on JOHN BARGER and POINTER BARGER who also were in Bledsoe Co. in the 1840 federal census. I also think that NANCY's father may have been JOSEPH BULLOCK. SILAS LAY maried to ELIZABETH SMITH or BROWN. They had one son WILLIAM ROBERT LAY. When the son was less than 5 years old his mother died, and his father remarried, than he too died. The Step Mother remarried and the two of them treated the child badly sending him to live in the slave quarters and they treated like a slave. At a very early age he was caught helping the slaves make knives, and was sent to prison, on the way to prison he escaped and ran away to live in Mississippi. He eventually move to Utah and married EMILY KENNER, they had 13 children and he died in 1934. If this story sounds familar please contact me. We have been looking for our Roots for over 30 years and need HELP.

Seeking any info on ANDREW LEWALLEN, b. ca. 1829, TN. He & wife ELIZABETH are in 1850 Scott Co, TN census. Known children are EWEL (b. ca. 1848) & REDIN (b. 1849), also possibly JASPER, ANDREW, & NITA, & perhaps others. I'm told that in the 1850 TN census, ANDREW and ELIZABETH were enumerated "next door" to Sheriff JOHN LEWALLEN. Perhaps this is a clue, but Sheriff JOHN's brother ANDREW was ANDREW "L," b. ca. 1793, & therefore not my ANDREW. This ANDREW "L" also had a son ANDREW RUSSEL LEWALLEN, but he was b. 28 Oct 1824, (& m. PERLISCIA ANNE "Phebe" DAVIS) & was therefore also not my ANDREW.

Looking for info. on WILLIAM ALLEN (01/04/1831-07/25/1909) married to CATHARINE ALLEN (10/27/1838-09/22/1912) who live in the Elk Valley, or Little Elk Valley area near the Scott/Campbell Co. border. They were buried in the Loysten area and were among the grave moved to Cumberland View Cemtetery in Campbell Co. when Norris Dam was built (abt. 1936). WILLIAM and CATHARINE had a daughter, REBECCA ALLEN (01/08/1866-10/20/1944) who was married to R. B. COKER (03/17/1861-09/25/1902). Among other older children, REBECCA ALLEN had a daughter named LOMA (b:03/21/1905 in Little Elk Valley) but father is questionable (not R. B. COKER?) Any information on REBECCA ALLEN or the ALLEN Family of the Scott/Campbell Co. area.

Researching MOSES or MOSE S. THOMAS born 1869 in Tennessee. Parents may have been CALVIN and FANNIE THOMAS. Found a CALVIN and FANNIE in Scott Co (1870 Census) with child named MOSES. Age indicated is 4 years old, not 1 or 2. The 1880 census shows a different CALVIN THOMAS family. MOSE does not show up again until 1890 when he married MARY CAMPBELL in Arkansas. Any ideas?
