FUTRELL/FUTRAL. I am looking for a birth record of Ollie Lee Futrell(Sep.1873). Her father was William Futrell(b.abt.1847, found with her sister, Myril in Trigg Co., KY, 1880).I believe all were born in Stewart Co., TN.There is a William Futral, son of David Futral found in the 1860/1870 census records. I would like to know if they are the same William. I would also like to know if this David Futral is David H. Futrell, son of Shadrach Futrell and Charlotte Johnson of North Carolina. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Spellings vary from census to census but most of the dates fit.

JACKSON, TOMLINSON. I'm hoping that someone may have information that will help us determine if there are other Jackson lines in Stewart Co., TN that connect to our Jackson lineage of Robert Jackson b. abt 1615 England d. 1683 Hempstead Long Island, NY. Direct descendants of this patriarch moved from Anson Co., NC to Stewart Co., TN and we have substantial records on Abel Jackson son of Benjamin who appears on the 1820 census in that county. We would appreciate if you could give us any incite into the other Jackson families, many look as if they might belong to this same lineage because of the common given names. To see the nature of our research go to

http://www.jacksonfamilygenealogy.com/
We have a Jackson family from Montgomery Co., TN that has proven to be of this same Hempstead Jackson lineage, proven by Y-DNA test results but we have not found the connection to this line as yet. We are hoping that the William Jackson on the Stewart Co., 1820 census may be the key to this search.

TRAMEL, TRAMMEL, TRAMMELL. I am searching for information on a Sampson Trammell (b. aft. 1753; d. 1812?) who may have died in Stewart County TN. My sources say that the Stewart County Will Book A, 1812-1814 lists: "124 guardian bond by William Pryor, James Pryor, Jesse Denson, for Edith Trammell, Isabella Trammell, Jarret Trammell, James Trammell & Jacob Hollingsworth Trammell, orphans of Sampson Trammell; 8 Aug 1812" After his death, his sons were reportedly raised by his brother David Trammell. Children - James and Burke (d. March 06, 1836 - The BATTLE of the ALAMO) The Handbook of Texas On-Line, a project of the Texas State Historical Association, lists Burke Trammel as being born in Ireland, but coming from Tennessee:
TRAMMEL, BURKE (1810-1836). Burke Trammel, Alamo defender, was born in Ireland in 1810 and traveled to Texas from Tennessee. He took part in the siege of Bexar. He later served in the Alamo garrison as a member of Capt. William R. Carey's artillery company. Trammel died in the battle of the Alamo on March 6, 1836
