BOYER CEMETERY Located at the end of Pennsylvania Avenue in the Sullivan Gardens/Horse Creek area of Sullivan County. The cemetery was mowed and well kept.

H. T. Churchwell was a Union soldier in the Civil war, serving in the 4th Tennessee Cavalry, Company B. He did not die in the war, as he is found in the 1900 census of Sullivan County with two of his sons, George and James or Jarvis.

He is also found in the 1880 census with wife, E. J.,(Henry) who was born in Virginia, daughter, Diannah, and sons, John and George.

H. T. Churchwell’s daughter, Diannah married unknown Boyer and they were the parents of Charles Boyer, who married Juda. Charles and Juda Boyer are found in the 1910 census of Sullivan County with children:Walter, Rose, Mary and Suda (Cox) and granddaughter, Glennie. Charles mother, Diannah is also living with them in the 13th district. In 1920, Charles, Judy, Glennie Cox (granddaughter) and Charles L. Unknown (boarder) are found in the 13th district.

John and Melvina Boyer are found in the 1920 census of Sullivan County, living in the 12th Civil District with their children: Willie, Henry, Mattie, Maud and Frances.
