Listed in the "Soldiers of the American Rev. buried in Tenn.":

Samuel Moore Born 1-15-1764 in Va.; D- 8-29-1834 in Sullivan Co. Buried at the old home place now called Gaines Cemetery at Orebank. He served in Stokes Co. N.C. (family tradition) his father's service is recorded (Mathew Moore married Lititia Dalton)

Samuel married in 1788 in Surry Co. N.C. to Elizabeth Strothers Gaines (dau of Capt. James Gaines) She was born1769 in North Carolina and died 1820 in Sullivan Co., Tn.

Children—

Susannah b- 1789 d- 1820 married in 1805 to William Hughes

Lititia Dalton Moore born 5-23-1797 died 12-23-1885 married 6-23-1814 to John S. Gaines born 1794 died 1879
