SULLIVAN CO., Tn. 1825; grandchildren Aubert and Irene Marcy brought to Bonham in 1895; member Christian Church on Main St.; he was brother to Grandma J.P. Fulkerson.

BULLOCK, CHARLES E.
BLUFF CITY - Charles E. “Charlie” Bullock, 72, formerly of 549 Bunker Hill Road, died Thursday, Dec. 30, 1999, in Bristol Nursing Home. He was born in Sullivan County, a son of the late Tom and Bertha Shepherd Bullock. He was a member of Bunker Hill Christian Church and a retired carpenter. He was the widower of Jean Bullock. Surviving are four daughters, Lora Kistner of Bristol VA, Susie Perry and Carol Deloach, both of Bluff City, and Janie Glover of Thomasville, NC; a brother, James Clyde “Andy” Bullock of Bluff City; three sisters, Joyce Hardin of Elizabethton, Evelyn Fox and Peggy Scalf, both of Bluff City; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; four step-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 8 p.m. in Tetrick Funeral Home, Riverside Chapel, Elizabethton. Ernie Depew and Danny Scalf, ministers, will officiate. Graveside services will be Saturday at 2 p.m. in Jones Cemetery with military honors by Captain Lynn H. Folsom VFW Post 2166.. Everyone will meet at Tetrick Funeral Home Chapel at 1:15 p.m. Saturday to go in procession to the cemetery. Mr. Bullock was also preceded in death by a son, Chuckie Bullock; a granddaughter, Chasity Deloach; and a brother, Bobby Joe Bullock. Among survivors are sons-in-law, Robert Kistner of Bristol Virginia, Conley Perry and Eddie Deloach, both of Bluff City, and Steve Glover of Thomasville. Pallbearers will be Denny Scalf, Kenny Hardin, Tommy Scalf, Kenneth White, Dallas Sams, Kim Perry and Lawrence Perry. The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday in the funeral home or at the residence of daughters, Susie Perry, 328 Perry Road, Bluff City, or Lora Kistner, 306 Pearl St., Bristol, VA, at any time. BRISTOL, Tenn. – Pat Ford, age 76, went to be with the Lord Thursday, Feb. 15, 2007, at her home.

She was born April 18, 1930, and was a daughter of the late Robert Lee Bowman and Susie Jones Bowman. She was a lifelong resident of the Bristol area and was a retired employee of Kroger's, with 17 years of service.

She was a member of the Steele Creek Baptist Church and was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Lee Ford.

Survivors include daughter, Barbara Hinkle and husband Michael, Blountville; sons, Ralph Nolan Ford and wife Janie, Walt Ford and wife Anita and Allen Ford and Wendy Pfeifer, all of Bristol Virginia; sisters, Annie Pendergrass, Bristol Tennessee, and Lara Ellen Shaver, Bluff City; brother, Walter Thomas Bowman and wife Pauline, Blountville; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted at 8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 16, 2007, at the Weaver Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Gary Addington and the Rev. Steve Lyons officiating. The committal will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Glenwood Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Keith Ford, Brian Ralston, Ed Hinkle, William Helbert, Lee Barnes and Keith Thomas. Honorary pallbearers will be Dennis Ford, Dr. Boccarossa and staff and Dr. Forrest Swan and staff.

ROBERT HARKLEROAD
BRISTOL, Tenn. – Robert Cureton “Bobby” Harkleroad, 80, died on Friday, Nov. 24, 2006, at his home.

He was born on Tuesday, Aug. 10, 1926 in Bristol Tennessee to the late Frank W. and Annette Johnson Harkleroad. He was a lifelong member of Anderson Street United Methodist Church where he assisted as a volunteer helper in Miss Maude's kindergarten class. Many will miss his daily friendly presence at Charlie Brown's Uncle Sam's Loan Office and the Burger Bar.

Survivors include his sister, Frances Harkleroad Trammell; his niece, Terri Trammell Block and her husband Chris and their sons, John Christian Block III and Patrick Trammell Block.

The family will receive friends from 1 until 1:50 Monday afternoon, Nov. 27, 2006, at Anderson Street United Methodist Church. The funeral service will follow at 2 o'clock, with the Rev. Barbara Clark officiating. The committal and interment will follow in Glenwood Cemetery. Honorary pallbearers will be Bobby's many friends.

The family is grateful for the many kindnesses shown Bobby by caring Bristolians throughout his life.

FRANCIS MARION HAWLEY of Indian Springs, Sullivan County, Tennessee
“Departed this life, after a long and painful illness, at his residence in Sullivan County, on Friday 21^st. Captain Francis Hawley a soldier of the Revolution. Capt. Hawley was born in Stafford County Virginia, and came to this county, he was a good citizen, a kind neighbor, an affectionate husband and father, and in the fullest sense of the term, an honest man.”

RUTH POFF, Kingsport
KINGSPORT - Ruth Marie POFF passed away Thursday (May 22, 2003).

KINGSPORT - Ruth Marie POFF, 81, went to be with the Lord Thursday (May 22, 2003).

She was born in Scott County, Va. and lived most of her life in Kingsport. She was of the Baptist faith.

Mrs. POFF loved flowers, visiting friends, and family. She enjoyed her family very much.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Wallace R. POFF; sons, Jerry and Jackie POFF; and parents, Della and George Hawkins.

Surviving are her daughters, Jean Amyx and husband Fred, Judy McClain and Louise Branham, all of Kingsport and Brenda Crowe of Gray; son, Ralph POFF and wife Pam, Kingsport; friend, Bobby Dean and special friend, Charles Herron; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; sisters, Thelma DEPRIEST, Ray Freeman and Maxie MULLINS; brother, Raymond Hawkins; and several nieces and nephews. Calling hours are from 5 to 7 p.m. today at Oak Hill Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at Mrs. Pouf's home, 520 Weeks Avenue, Kingsport.

Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Raymond Hammond's and Pastor Lee Stiler officiating.

Pallbearers will be Allen Amyx, Michael Branham, David McClain, Lance Hobbs, Brandon POFF and Jason Christian.

Mrs. Mary E. Smallwood, wife of Theophilus Smallwood, deceased, died at her home at 9 o'clock Friday morning. She was 64 years old at the time of her death.

Funeral services were conducted from the home at 3 o'clock Sunday afternoon by her pastor, Rev. E. O. Woodyard, assisted by Rev. W. S. Hendricks, pastor of the Methodist Church South. Following the services at the home the body of Mrs. Smallwood was interred in the Bachman cemetery by the side of the husband and those of her children who had preceded her to the grave.

Mrs. Smallwood is survived by four sons, four daughters, two sisters and twenty-two grandchildren. She was a woman of sterling character and lovable disposition and had a host of friends in and about Kingsport to mourn her loss.

Those officiating as pallbearers at the funeral were W. C. Marsh, Victor Patton, George Steffey, Guy Devault, John Thomas Roller and Ben Bardill.

Flower bearers were Mrs. Milt Crawford, Mrs. Julia Barker, Mrs. Nannie Reed and Miss Lela Reed.
