Thomas BRAGG married widow Elizabeth WHITSON JOB in Augusta County and came to what is now
Sullivan County at least by 1780. He had at least the following children: Thomas whose
wife I have not identified. David married Elizabeth. and possible Charles, Joseph and a
daughter who married a TITTSWORTH. Only Thomas remained in Sullivan County. Elizabeth who
married Henry NEATHERTON in Augusta County in 1758 may be his sister and Joseph BRAGG who
had children in Madison Alabama, Mississippi Territory may be his brother. Any

D: December 12, 1933. These are my great grandparents who lived in the Indian Springs area
of Sullivan County from at least 1874 through at least 1891. They had nine children,
including my grandfather, George W. Akens, B: May 30, 1886, D: April 17, 1928, M: November
20, 1907 to Venus Hassie Sturgill, B: June 21, 1890, D: September 1978. I cannot locate

Looking for any info and other researchers of the John McQUEEN/Polly ALLENDALE family.
John was born in Orange Co., VA in 1761. I believe his father's name was Thomas. He is
reported to have lived in what became Sullivan Co., TN, during the late 1700's. John and
Polly were married c. 1797. I don't have further info on her. They had several children
and migrated to Kentucky, settling in Estill Co. where John died in 1855. There are
several locations with the McQUEEN name near the Sullivan/Washington Co. line. Is there
anyone doing research with this family? I believe there's a link with mine, but am not

Seek parents of Jacob WADDLE b. ca 1778 VA. He m. 1796 Augusta Co., VA to Jane Jackson. He
was residing in Sullivan Co., TN in 1810 when he received an acre of land on Reedy Creek
from a John WADDLE. Jacob was captured and slain at Ft. Niagra in 1813. His heirs were
pensioned from 1815 to 1820 in Sullivan Co. His widow Jane appears in the 1830 Sullivan
Co. census with three of their five children. Their children included (1) Mary Lavina

I'm searching for any information on BENJAMIN CLOUD b 1788 near Kingsport, TN d 19 Aug
1854 Kingsport TN mar NANCY NETHERLAND b 1798 Powhatan, VA d 27 Feb 1868. They were
married 2 Mar 1815 at Netherland Inn, Kingsport, TN. Nancy's parents were RICHARD
NETHERLAND and MARGARET WOOD(s?). Does anyone have any information about the CLOUDS and/or
NETHERLANDS. I would like to also know anything about Netherland Inn. Benjamin and Nancy
are my great great grandparents and are supposed to be buried in the "Benjamincloud
Cemetery" in or near Kingsport. Any information would be greatly appreciated...
