WOLFORD

Searching for any information on WOLFORD families of Sullivan County. In 1830-1840 censuses, there were families headed by Elcanah, George, George, and William. In 1850, two of the families were headed by women. Was Catherine William's wife? Is the elder Jacob WOLFORD, age 84 in the 1850 census and living with the John HARR family the father of Elcanah, George, and William? He is listed as having been born in DE. My gg-gf was Jacob, age 15 in the 1850 census and in the household of Catharine, presumably his mother. Since his full name was Jacob DROKE WOLFORD, could his mother Catharine have been a DROKE? Since the elder Jacob WOLFORD was living with the John HARR family, could John's wife Elizabeth have been a WOLFORD? Would be most appreciative for any information or leads.

JETER

Does anyone have a Jeter line that is German? I have the great Jeter Mosaic book. Not one that I can find that is connected to my line. It was a shock to buy that hugh wonderful book and not find even one that could possibly be mine. My Jeter clan most certainly spoke German. Below is the information that I have. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Rufus spoke better German than English so the family legend goes. My Great Aunt and my mother both knew him and remember his speech. My granddad would on rare occasion break out in German profanity. Of course like most children, the first words you learn in a new language is always the bad ones and they stick for life! :)
