Doughnuts4 cups flour 4 tsp. baking powder 1 tsp. salt 1 tsp. mace 1 cup milk 1 cup sugar 2 eggs 1 tsp. vanilla Sift dry ingredients, except sugar. Add sugar to beaten egg. Then creamed butter, flour and milk alternately, then vanilla. Yield 3-4 dozen doughnuts. *Note: Fat is hot when a bread crumb will brown in 60 seconds, or if a splash of water from fingers sizzles. 2 pounds of fat to fry.
