Caramel Cookies
1/2 shortening
1 cups brown sugar
2 eggs, well beaten
1 tsp. baking soda, dissolved in 1 tsp. water
1 cup coconut
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. cream of tartar
3 cups flour
Make in roll, same as ice box cookies. Slice and bake.
