My paternal great-grandparents, Joseph Prater and Flora Lee (Martin) Scott. Joseph, 8 Oct 1870 - 12 Dec 1947, was the son of William Willis and Matilda ______ Scott. Flora, 12 Oct 1876 - 31 Oct 1956, was the daughter of Robert Calhoun and Vesta (Ware) Martin. Joseph and Flora are both buried at White Hill Cemetery, Van Buren Co., TN.

My maternal great-grandparents, William Clayburn and Martha Vesta (Roberts) Hennessee. William, 8 Aug 1864 - 8 May 1938, was the son of Alford Thomas Hennessee and Ellen Groves. Martha, 6 June 1866 - 12 April 1924, was the daughter of John Wesley Roberts and Elizabeth ("Eadie") Earls. William and Martha are buried in White Hill Cemetery, Van Buren Co., TN.
The young girl standing next to Martha is my grandmother, Bettie Ann Hennessee.

My paternal grandparents, Arcie and Bettie Ann (Hennessee) Scott of Spencer, Van Buren Co., TN. They were married December 21, 1919. Arcie was the son of Joseph Prater Scott and Flora Lee Martin. He was born September 25, 1893 and died January 7, 1980. He was a WW I veteran and farmed for many years in the Spencer area. Bettie Ann was the daughter of William Clayburn Hennessee and Martha Vesta Roberts. She was born December 19, 1900 and died December 14, 1979. Arcie and Bettie Ann are both buried in the Town Cemetery of Spencer.

My father Everett Scott. He was born March 15, 1929 in Spencer, Van Buren Co., TN and died August 10, 1989 in Tomah, Monroe Co., WI. He graduated from Van Buren County High School in 1947 and enlisted in the Army Air Corps. In 1954, he married Louise Maidment of Shambler's Cove, Newfoundland, Canada. He was a Korean War veteran and retired from the US Air Force in 1973. He is buried in Oak Grove Cemetery, Tomah, Monroe Co., WI.
