H. J. O'Brian Dies Tuesday
Harry J. O'Brian, retired Construction worker, died at his home at Mt. Leo Tuesday morning at 12:30 o'clock. Mr. Brian suffered a heart attack two weeks ago. He was 59. Funeral rites were held Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. J. E. Wolven, minister of Mt. Leo Church of Christ, officiated and burial was in Mt. View Cemetery. A native of Dugland, Va., Mr. O'Brian was born February 28, 1893. He was a son of Joseph O'Brian and Isabel Jassauch O'Brian and he was married to Miss Grace Sears. She survives. Mr. O'Brian had been a resident of Tennessee for a quarter of a century and had lived in Warren county for ten years. He moved to McMinnville six years ago. He was a member of the Church of Christ. In addition to his wife, he is survived by one sister, Mrs. Katherine Anne Moore, Baltimore, two nieces and one nephew. Arrangements by Love-Cantrell Funeral Home.Southern Standard, McMinnville, TN. O'DELL, Glenna Sue Bouldin (circa 1948-1980)
Odell, Glenna Sue Bouldin
Mrs. Glenna Sue Odell, 32-year-old resident of Mt. Route Spencer, died of and apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound at the clinic of Dr. Margaret Rhinehart at 8:30 a.m. Wednesday. A native of Warren County and member of the Church of Christ, she was a daughter of Sewell and Louise Johnson Bouldin of Spencer. Other survivors include her husband, Webby Odell of Sparta; a son and daughter, Ricky and Kimberly Ann Odell of Spencer; a brother and sister, Gary Bouldin of Florida and Marlene Lowery of Spencer; maternal grandmother, Mrs. Bell Johnson, and paternal grandfather, M.P. Bouldin of McMinnville. She was formerly employed by the Oster Corp. here. With Andy McElroy the officiant, funeral services will be held in High's Chapel at 1 p.m. Friday with interment in the Shockley Cemetery in Van Buren county. Hackett R. O'Neal
Retired Genesco employee Hackett R. O'Neal, aged 68, of ROute 3, McMinnville, succumbed to a weeks illness in Warren County General Hospital at 8:30 a.m. Sunday. A native of this county and member of the Church of Christ, he was married to the former Elizabeth Smith, who survives, and was a son of the late Albert and Myrtle O'Neal. In addition to his wife, he is survived by three brothers, Joe and Charlie O'Neal, of Routes 6 and 9, respectively, and Wesley O'Neal, Chattanooga. Brother Vernon Joines will officiate at last rites scheduled in HIgh's Chapel at 2 p.m. Tuesday, with burial to follow in Smyrna Cemetery. O'NEAL, John King (1888 - 1953)
Mr. O'Neal Dies At Nursing Home
John King O'Neal, 84, will known McMinnville citizen, died at Lively Heights Nursing Home Wednesday morning at 4:15 o'clock. He had been ill for a number of years. Funeral rites were conducted on Saturday mroning at 11 o'clock at Mt. Leo Church of Christ. The minister, Mack Langford, officiated and burial was in Smyrna cemetery. Mr. O'Neal was a native of Warren county, born August 10, 1868. He was a son of William O'Neal and Parmelia Barnes O'Neal and he was first married to Miss Josephine Hayes, who died in 1906. Mr. O'Neal then married Miss Ada Jones, who died February 16, 1941 and he was married December 15, 1944 to Julia McCormick, who survives. Mr. O'Neal was a member of the Church of Christ. Survivors include his wife, two sons, Ernest O'Neal, Smartt, and Johnny O'Neal, Ohio; five daughters, Mrs. George Jones, Rock Island, Mrs. Henry Byars, Mt. Leo, Mrs. Nora Masters, McMinnville, Mrs. Georgia McBride, Ohio and Mrs. Herbert Roberts, McMinnville. Also two brothers, Tom and Albert O'Neal, McMinnville. ORRICK, IDA ELIZABETH (circa 1909 - 1990)
Ida E. Orrick
McMinnville resident Ida Elizabeth Orrick died Monday of a three-week illness. She was 81 years of age. A native of Coffee County, she was the daughter of the late David and Pallie Ann Cunningham Tucker and the wife of the late Howard Orrick. She was a housewife and member of the Unity Church of Christ. Funeral services will be held this afternoon at two in High's Chapel with Nestor Stewart officiating. Burial will follow in Centertown Cemetery. Mrs. Orrick is survived by one son, James Verlon Orrick of McMinnville; one daughter, Louise Barnes of Niles, Mich.; two brothers, Ross and Lewis Tucker, both of Niles, Mich.; five grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. High Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

OVERSTREET, Martha Jane (1876-1953)
Mrs. Overstreet Dies At Viola
Mrs. Martha Jane Overstreet, 77, mother of Mrs. J.W. Terry of Viola, died at her daughter’s home Saturday evening at 6 o’clock, following an illness of several months. Funeral services were held at Walker cemetery at Celina Monday at 1 p.m. with H. E. Neely, Church of Christ minister, officiating. Burial took place there. A native of Clay county, Mr. Overstreet was born March 29, 1876. She was a daughter of J.R. Stone and Nannie Green Stone and she was married to Frank H. Overstreet in 1893. He died January 4, 1941. Mrs. Overstreet had made her home with her daughter at Viola for several years and was a member of the Church of Christ. Besides Mrs. Terry, she is survived by another daughter, Miss Ruth Overstreet, Indianapolis, Ind.; four brothers, Barton Stone, Nashville, J.G. Stone, Mt. Juliet, F.H. Stone, Dover, and Joe W. Stone, Celina; five sisters, Mrs. Bob Holman, Oklahoma, Mrs. Fannie Nevins, Rickman, Mrs. Dora Meadows, Timothy, Tenn., Mrs. H. S. Dubree and Mrs. Lora Davis both of Celina. OWENS, Curtis (circa 1916-1999)
Services for Curtis Owens, 83, of 118 Juliet Ave., who died Saturday, Jan. 9, at the NHC Health Care Center, are scheduled for 1 p.m. Monday at Jennings & Ayers Funeral Home followed by burial in Roselawn Memorial Gardens, with the Rev. Woodrow Medlock officiating. He was the son of the late William and Lottie Harris Owens. He is survived by his wife, Nola Simpson Owens; two stepsons, Van Simpson of Franklin and James Howard Simpson of Nashville; four stepdaughters, Shelia Webb of Murfreesboro, Linda Sue Grisham of Mt. Juliet, Sandy Foster of Lascassas and Pat Cox of Christiana; two sisters, Ruby Church of War, W. Va., and Cora Warren of Fla.; 16 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Mr. Owens was a native of North Carolina. He moved to West Virginia and worked in coal mines. He later moved to Florida and served as a detective. Visitation with the family will be from 4-8 p.m. today at Jennings & Ayers Funeral Home.
