QUICK, Hazel Marine Vincent (1894 - 1953)
Rites Today For Mrs. G. L. Quick
Funeral services for Mrs. Hazel Marine Quick, 58, will be held this Thursday afternoon at 3 o'clock at the chapel of High Funeral Home. Rev. C.B. Smith, pastor of First Methodist Church,will officiate and burial will be in Mt. View cemetery. Mrs. Quick, wife of Granville L. Quick, McMinnville industrial plant official, died at Vanderbilt hospital, Nashville, Monday evening at 9 o'clock. She had undergone an operation to correct a heart ailment that morning . Mrs. Quick had been in failing health for three years. A native of New York state, Mrs. Quick was born April 17, 1894. She was the daughter of Frederick Vincent and Damaris Bird Vincent, natives of England, and she was married to Mr. Quick in July 1927. The Quicks moved to McMinnville in 1941 when he became superintendent of the piece goods department of Kingsboro Silk Mill. They have made their home here since. Mrs. Quick was a member of he Methodist Church. In addition to her husband, she is survived by a sister, Mrs. Nellie Grotenvant, Utica, N.Y. QUICK, Jesse David (1874 - 1953)
Mr. Quick Dies While Testifying In Chancery Case
Jesse David Quick, 78-year-old retired Warren county farmer, died unexpectedly Friday afternoon at 3:15 o’clock while testifying in a Chancery Court lawsuit at the Courthouse here. Mr. Quick was stricken while being cross-examined in a boundary line dispute being heard on deposition in the office of Clerk and Master Frank Hennessee. His death was attributed to a heart attack. A native of Warren county, Mr. Quick was born November 21, 1874 in the Blue Springs Cove community. He was a son of Joe Quick and Columbia Evans Quick and he was married November 8, 1899 to Miss Paralee Jaco. She died April 23, 1943. Mr. Quick was a member of the Shellsford Baptist Church. He is survived by several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at 4 o’clock at Shellsford Baptist Church.Rev. Dewey Roberson, Toy Pittman and John W. QUICK, Victoria Holcomb (1875 - 1953)
Mrs W. J. Quick Dies In Hospital
Mrs. Victoria Holcomb Quick, widow of W. J. Quick, died at Vanderbilt hospital, Nashville, Thursday afternoon at 1:55 o’clock. She had been ill three weeks and was 77 years of age. Funeral services were conducted Saturday afternoon at 2 o’clock at Shellsford Baptist Church with Rev. Bill A. Jordon, of Chattanooga, Ga., and John W. High officiating. Burial was in Shellsford cemetery. A native of Warren county, Mrs. Quick was born October 23, 1875. She was a daughter of Obidiah Holcomb and Josie Rowland Holcomb and she was married to Mr Quick in 1894. He died in 1937. Mrs. Quick was a member of the Baptist Church. Survivors include one son, Lawrence Quick, McMinnville; a brother, Bryan Holcomb, Huntsville, Ala., three sisters, Misses Dovie and Elizabeth Holcomb, both of Huntsville, and Mrs. Lawrence Holcomb of Miami, Fla.
