SCHMITZ, Minnie Rice  (????-1949)

Sister Of Mrs. Moore Dies In Toledo, Ohio
          Mrs. Minnie Rice Schmitz, of Toledo, Ohio, passed away Wednesday night at her home. Funeral services and burial took place in Toledo Saturday morning.  Mrs. Schmitz was a sister of Mrs. S.E. Moore of McMinnville. The deceased moved here with her parents, W. J. and Lois Rice when a small child and had lived her until marriage when she moved to Ohio.  Her father was engaged in the lumber business here for a number of years, later moving to the west.  She is survived by her husband, two daughters and a son. In addition to Mrs. Moore, she had a brother who resides in California.

SCOTT, Clarence Deckard   (circa 1925-1970)

               Clarence Deckard Scott, 45-year old native of Warren county, and resident of Rt. 6, McMinnville, died of a lingering illness, Friday, Nov. 6, at 10:15 a.m. at Warren county General Hospital. A former car salesman, he was a son of Dock Scott and the late Iva Fults Scott.  Surviving are his father,  Dock Scott, of McMinnville; three brothers, Eugene Scott, Wesley Scott, and Henry Scott, all of McMinnville; four sisters, Mrs. Etna Bates, Mrs. George Muncey, Jr., Mrs. Louise Russell, all of whom are from McMinnville, and Mrs. Christine Fults, Mentor, Ohio; and one niece, Mrs. Adell Gaither, of McMinnville.  Funeral services were scheduled for Sunday, Nov. 8, at 2 p.m., at Mt. Zion Methodist Church, with Bro. J.R. Boren and John W. High officiating, and burial to follow at the Mt. Zion cemetery.  High's Inc., was in charge of arrangements.

SCOTT, Cooper (???? - 1886)

Irving College
            Cooper Scott, an aged and esteemed citizen of the vicinity, died one day this week and was buried the following day at Shiloh Church.  Mr. Scott was one of the largest land owners and most successful fruit growers of Collins River.  He was born in poverty and reared without the advantages of education not being able to ever sign his name, yet by energy and frugality he accomplished what the educated favorites of fortune often fail to accomplish.  He was a consistent member of the Primitive Baptist Church.

SCOTT, Eliza Bell Parker  (1892-1950)

Rites In DeKalb for Mrs. Scott
            Mrs. Eliza Scott, 57, died in a local hospital Sunday morning at 11:45 o'clock after an illness of four months. She had suffered from a heart condition.  Funeral services were conducted Monday afternoon at 4 o'clock at the Salem Baptist Church at Liberty. Burial took place in the Liberty cemetery.  Mrs. Scott was a native of DeKalb county, born July 31, 1892. She was a daughter of Joe Parker and Sallie Murphy Parker and she was married July 14, 1912 to Sam N. Scott, who survives.  Mrs. Scott was a
member of the Baptist Church. Besides her husband, Mrs. Scott is survived by four sons, Robert and Edward Scott, Murfreesboro, Sammy E. and Lloyd Scott, Rock Island; five daughter, Mrs. Jesse Bratcher and Mrs. Harding Davenport, Rock Island, Mrs. Billy Fisher, Walling, Mrs. Jesse Rogers, Kansas City, Mo., Miss Betty Jean Scott, Rock Island; one sister, Mrs. Johnny  Johnson, McMinnville, and three brothers, Frank Parker, Nashville, Robert and Fred Parker, Chattanooga.  High Funeral Home is in charge of
arrangements.

SCOTT, Fannie Crawley  (1904-1952)

Rites Thursday For Mrs. Scott
          Funeral services for Mrs. Fannie Scott, 47, wife of Floyd Scott, were conducted Thursday afternoon at 2 o’clock at the chapel of High Funeral Home. Brownie Smith, Baptist minister, officiated and burial was in Mt.View cemtery.  Mrs. Scott , native of Warren county, died at her home in Indianapolis, Ind., Saturday, January 26, at 9 p.m., following a week’s illness.  Born February 10, 1904, Mrs. Scott was a daughter of Drew Crawley and Mary Simms Crawley and May Simms Crawley and she was married September 20, 1924 to Mr. Scott.  She was a member of the Baptist church.  In addition to her husband, she is survived by two brothers, Elmer Crawley and Major Crawley, Indianapolis, Ind., six sisters, Mrs. Myrtle Harrell, Mrs. Belle Nunley and Mrs. Bessie Freeze, Shady Grove, Mrs. Georgia Campbell and Mrs. Ruby Duncan, Indainapolis, Ind. High’s were in charge of arrangements.

Rites January 30 For Mrs. Fannie Scott, 47
           Funeral services for Mrs. Fannie Scott, 47, wife of Floyd Scott, who died in Indianapolis, Ind., on January 26, were held Wednesday, January 30 at High Funeral Home.  Rev. Brown Smith officiated and burial was in Mt View cemetery. Mrs. Scott, native of Warren county, was born February 10, 1904.  She was a daughter of Elex Drew Crawley and Mary Green Crawley and she was married to Mr. Scott September 20, 1924. She was a member of Shady Grove Baptist church. Besides her husband, she is survived by two brothers, Elmer and Major Crawley, Indianapolis; six sisters, Mrs. Charles F. Duncan, Indianapolis, Mrs. Myrtle Harrell, Mrs. Belle Nunley, Mrs. Bessie Freeze, Mrs. L.C. Campbell and Mrs. Eugene Craven, all of Morrison. Arrangements
were by High's.

SCOTT,  Fannie Mai Adams  (circa 1872-1951)

Mrs. Fannie Scott Dies Of Illness
                     Mrs. Fannie Mai Scott, widow of C.B. Scott, died at the home of her son, Howard Scott, in Viola, Sunday morning at 9:20 o'clock. She had been ill for ten days and was 79 years of age.  Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Mt. Zion Methodist Church. John W. High officiated and burial was in the Mt. Zion cemetery.  Mrs. Scott was a daughter of Thomas Adams and Chrisine Northcutt Adams and was married to Mr. Scott, who died in August 1939. She was a member of the Church of Christ. Survivors, in addition to her son, are four daughters, Mrs. J.B. Blair, Dechard; Mrs. Tom Fults, Viola; Mrs. Fate Lynn, McMinnville. And Mrs. L. N. McDaniel, Hillsboro. Arrangements were by High Funeral Home.

           Chestnut Grove community - Sorrowing relatives and friends followed the body of Mrs. Fanny Scott to her last resting place in the Mt. Zion cemetery Monday afternoon at two o'clock. Mr. Scott passed away Sunday morning, April 1, at the home of her son, Howard Scott. She was eighty-one years of age and had been ill only a few days. Besides her son Howard , she is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Leona Blair of Hillsboro, Mrs. Elkie Fults, of this place, Mrs. Jane Lynn of McMinnville, and Mrs. Ella Daniels of Asbury, and several grandchildren. We extend our heartfelt sympathy to the bereaved family.

SCOTT, Isaac  (circa 1860 - 1883)

       Isaac Scott, age 23 years, who lived on Roger's Creek in this county died last Saturday, September 1st, after a protracted illness of six or seven weeks.  He was buried on Sunday at Shiloh.  A. B. Jones and wife, his stepfather and mother, desire to return thanks to neighbors and friends for kindness and attention shown the deceased during his illness.

SCOTT, Iva Fults  (1888 - 1957)

Mrs. Iva Scott Dies Monday At Daughter's Home.
         Mrs. Iva Scott, died Monday at 11:30 a.m. at the home of her daughter Mrs. Marvin Crawford, on Route 6, McMinnville. She had been ill for the past nine months.  Final rites were conducted Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. at the Mt. Zion Church with John W. High and Alvin Pegg officiating. Burial was in the Mt. Zion Cemetery. A native of Grundy County, Mrs. Scott was born August 4, 1888 and was a daughter of John Wesley & Lucretia Campbell Fults. She was married to Dock Scott. Mrs. Scott was a member of the Church of Christ. Survivors are five daughters, Mrs. Adelle Gaither, Clarksville; Mrs. Clarence Bates, Mentor, Ohio; Mrs. Mary Katherine Muncey and Mrs. Marvin Crawford, both of McMinnville; four sons: Eugene Scott, Wesley Scott, Henry Scott all of Warren County and Deckard of McMinnville. Also, three sisters: Mrs. Basil Weesner, Morrison; Mrs. Leonard Shrum, Tracy City, Mrs. Clarence Northcutt, Altamont; four brothers: Tom B. Fults, Alabama City, AL; John Fults, Chattanooga, Blackie & Ealie Fults of Morrison.  Arrangements were by High Funeral Home.

SCOTT, Leander  (1873 - 1953)

Leander Scott's Rites Saturday
    Funeral services for Leander Scott, retired farmer and well known citizen, were held Saturday at 1:30  p.m. at the parlors of High Funeral Home. Lewis Henderson officiated and burial was in Shiloh cemetery.
    Mr. Scott, brother of the late L.V. Scott, Warren county tax assessor for many years, died at Lively Heights Nursing Home here Thursday afternoon. He was 80 years of age.
    A native of Grundy county, Mr. Scott was born June 14, 1873. He was a son of John Scott and Mary Martin Scott, pioneer Grundy residents, and he was married to Miss Lillie Pearl Barnes August 9, 1896.  She died January 22.
    Mr. Scott operated a large farm in the sixth district for a number of years and was
prominently identified with the affairs of his community throughout his active life.  He was a member of the Baptist Church.
    Survivors include two sons, Charles Scott, McMinnville, and W.B. Scott, Nashville; two daughters, Mrs. Jack Clark, McMinnville, and Mrs. Odie Talley, Tullahoma.

SCOTT, Mabel Ann Reagan  (circa 1937-2000)

Manchester resident and Overton County native Mabel Anne Reagan Scott, 63, died unexpectedly April 26 at Harton Regional Medical Center.  A retired secretary at AEDC and a member of Trinity Baptist Church in Manchester, she was the daughter of the late Andrew Jackson and Carrie Nation Reagan.  She is survived by her husband, Richard O. Scott; daughter, Karen Miller of Tracy City; grandchildren, Cassie and Kyle Miller, both of Tracy City; brothers, Nathan Reagan of McMinnville and Andrew J. Reagan of Buena Vista, Va.; and sisters, Lillie Reagan and Ima Ward, both of Smartt, Agnes Collins of Livingston and Helen Hawk of Tullahoma.  Services were held Saturday at Manchester Funeral Home with Dr. Kerry Walker officiating. Burial followed at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens.  Manchester Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

SCOTT,  Nancy Frances Lockhart  (1873 - 1941)

Mrs. Nancy Scott, 68, died Saturday Eve.  Served As Tax Assessor Of Warren County Following Death Of Her Husband.
    Mrs. Nancy Frances Scott, 68, widow of the late Levi Scott who was, for many years tax assessor for Warren County, died at her home in McMinnville at 7 o'clock Saturday evening. Mrs. Scott, before her marriage, was Miss Nancy Frances Lockhart, daughter of Holeman and Mary Hunter Lockhart. She was born March 17, 1873. Following her marriage to Mr. Scott they resided in the sixth district near Irving College but moved to McMinnville after her husband was elected county tax assessor. Following Mr. Scott's death the county court elected Mrs. Scott to fill out the unexpired term of her husband as tax assessor. Mrs. Scott is survived by three sons, H. E. Scott, President of Burritt College at Spencer, Lincoln Scott and Vestol Scott of McMinnville; five daughters, Mrs. Adale Moffitt of Indiana, Mrs. Bonner of Detroit, Michigan, Mrs. Miller Blankenship and Misses Lessing and Nancy Scott of this place. Funeral services were conducted from the High Funeral home at 10 o'clock Monday morning by Rev. Burl Killian and assisted by Rev. E. L. Smothers, pastor of the Magness Memorial Baptist Church. Burial was in Mountain View cemetery. High  Funeral company in charge of arrangements.

SCOTT, Villa Marvin  (1909-1947)

            Villa Marvin Scott, 37, wife of Howard Scott, died at 11 o'clock Tuesday morning at her home in the eighth district of this county. The funeral was held Wednesday from the Mt. Zion Methodist church with John W. High officiating.  Burial was in the church cemetery.  Born in Warren county July 22, 1909, Mrs. Scott was a daughter of  Snowden McBride and Mettie Vickers McBride. Besides  her husband she is survived by four sons, General Grant, Glenn, Grady, and Logan Scott; two daughters, Iona and Sylvia Scott; four sisters, Mrs. Houston Barks of McMinnville, Mrs. Raymond Lynn, Mrs. Leroy Dennis and Miss Jane McBride, and a brother Tom McBride. Arrangements by the High Funeral company.

SCOTT, William M.  (circa 1861 - 1939)

William M. Scott, aged 78, died at his home at Viola Wednesday morning, Jan. 18th. Funeral services were held at Mt. Zion church Thursday morning by Bro. Lige Martin. Burial at the Mt. Zion cemetery. He is survived by his wife Delia Fults Scott, four daughters, Mrs. Chas. Rogers, Mrs. Euke Wooten, Mrs. Sam Higginbotham, Mrs. Arnold Brewer, one son Dock Scott, one sister Mrs. John Mayo. He lived in Warren County his  whole life and was in Viola 15 years.
