James Morrison Brobeck was born 18 January 1821, the first child of Phillip and Elizabeth [Brobeck] to be born in Tennessee. He married first Mary Burkey, 21 July 1846 and had two daughters, Mary Elizabeth born 1848 and Amanda J. born 1850, both of whom died in early childhood. He married secondly, Martha Jane Gann, 12 March 1857, daughter of Daniel and Margaret "Peggy" Waddell Gann. Their children were born at the home place in the Broylesville District of Washington County on the Nolichuckey River. Margaret Rosann "Maggie" was born 29 August 1858. She was an artist and never married. She helped rear her brother and subsequently his children and lived with Lunceford in her latter years. She was buried Asbury Methodist Church Cemetery. Annis E. was born 16 June 1860, and married Johnson Ensor, 27 April 1884. She died in Knoxville, 23 March 1939, and was buried at Asbury. William Alexander was born 19 February 1863. Martha Jane died in childbirth and was buried at Asbury. After her death Morrison married thirdly Sarah "Sally" Moore. He died 31 March 897 and was buried Salem Presbyterian Cemetery, Washington College. William Alexander and his sisters were reared in part by their maiden aunts Rachel, Abigale, Mary, and Hester and Uncle James Madison Gann who lived with the family and who in their joint will left all their estate to the descendants of James Morrison and Martha Jane Gann Brobeck. They too were buried at Asbury in unmarked graves beside their sister.

John E. and Martha Henley Salts were buried at the start of the cemetery in unmarked graves. John Salts and Martha Henley were married 26 Sep 1869 by Alex Mathes, J.P. in Washington County, Tennessee.
