NORRIS (JOSEPH) CEMETERY

 

 

Located off Mosely Rd., TN behind a fenced Washington County Highway Department gravel area, next to the Washington County Solid Waste/Recycling Center at 160 Mosely Rd. Gray, TN. The cemetery is fenced.

GSP Location:  36.23.99 N  082.28.77 W; Elevation:  1605 ft.

Jospeh Norris Cemetery

There are approximately ten graves, six with fieldstones, one with a Hamlett-Dobson funeral home marker with all the letters missing, except a birth date of 1903 and three unmarked graves.

Additional information:

An older resident of the community stated that she personally knew four of the peopled buried in the Norris Cemetery. They were: Joe Norris, his wife nicknamed Sis, and their two sons, Buck and Sam. Below are some Norris families who lived in the area.

NORTHINGTON-CARATHERS CEMETERY

Northington-Carathers Cemetery

Located behind 3114 Brown's Mill Rd., Johnson City, TN. This cemetery is in very poor condition, October 2001. There is a tall chain-link fence and overgrown shrubs that keep you from entering the cemetery. In 2003 Effie Grace Miers had the cemetery cleared.
