• migrated to America by 1775
• enlisted in Rev War, Bucks Co, PA as wagoneer
• denied pension
• married Mary McCORMICK
• together they had 9 children, some born in PA, rest in VA
• retired to White Co (now Putnam Co) to daughter's home (Jincy Fergus and Abraham Ditty) and died 28 Sep 1841
• buried in Ditty/Fergus Family Cemetery on Ditty Road
• DAR marker erected 1941 on 100th anniversary of his death
• cemetery restoration for past 3 years
