His parents are believed to be John Alexander and Elizabeth BARCLAY originally from North Carolina. I would like any Civil War, land records, cemetery records of he and his wife, plus any other info you may have on my grandfather, such as town name in or near where my grandfather was born, his siblings, baptism, school, medical records. The Children are Mary b 1826, Martha b 1828, Samuel b 1830, Rebecca b 1832, Isaac b 1834, Rutha b 24 Feb 1837 m 24 April 1856 to William F. Sullins and died in Washita Co. Ok 21 May 1903.

William Madison MOORE was born in, or near, Sparta in 1835. When he went into the Civil War, he was with Co. A of the 6th KY Cavalry. Elisha CHEEK and his wife Sarah were residents of Bone Cave, Van Buren County in 1870 with two CHEEK children (James R. and Sallie Elizabeth CHEEK). Between 1870 and 1880, Elisha and Sarah may have divorced in White County. Sarah is enumerated as a Widow in the 1880 White County Census with three children; but Elisha is enumerated in Clay County NC with a wife and children. If anyone can tell me where White County Divorce records for the period 1873 to 1878 are located please let me know.

MOORE-MEEKS-COLE Seek information on families living in White Co. TN. Madison L. MOORE born about 1814 married Elizabeth COLE about 1833, where? Their oldest son, William Madison MOORE married Marian MEEKS, daughter of Judge Charles MEEKS in Sparta about 1858. He then went into the CSA, and apparantly left TN before 1870. They were in Coryell County TX by 1870, but were missed on the census both in 1870 and 1880. By 1900 the family had moved one county east and were enumerated in McLennan Co. TX. William Madison MOORE died 1922, Marian Meeks MOORE died in 1926, both are buried in the McGregor Cemetery, McLennan Co. TX. I would like to know more about these families and their descendants, and will gladly exchange information.

DENSON, ASA - Researching the DENSON surname from Jackson, White Counties in TN. Any information regarding the Asa Denson found in the 1920 Census for White County would be greatly appreciated. This could be my husband's ggrandfather. We believe that he was married to a Jane Fitzgerald and that they had a son named James DENSON (husband's ggramdfather). Jane died between 1850 and 1960. We believe that Asa then married a lady named Rachel and they raised James along with several children that he and Rachel had. I am looking for any info on Thomas Luther RICE who lived in White Co. in the mid to later 1800s. His wife was Sarah Jane FRAZZELL HERNDON. Children to her first husband (HERNDON) are: Tennie, Brad and Arizona. Thomas Luther RICE children to first wife: John A., James M. and George. Thomas Luther RICE and Sarah Jane had two children: Thomas and Mollie. I have no dates of any kind. I am seeking the Carrs of Dekalb Co. I have many Carrs in my line in Jackson ,White , Putnam , Clay and Cumberland counties. The Carrs seemed to move around a bit. I am of Staley Carr of Cookville. I have researched and found George W. Carr, my grandfather, Eligah W. Carr, his father, and Jonathon Redmond Carr, his father. I lose the family with William Carr in Jackson County late 1700s. Would appreciate any help on my family in Dekalb. I believe that William had been in Dekalb with Elisha after 1800.

GREEN, SORELL, SORELLE

Would like to find the GREEN-SORELLE connection to White County. Thomas Jefferson GREEN b. Oct. 7, 1823 White Co, TN ? He did marry Catherine M. SORELL in White Co on Feb. 15, 1844 . I am puzzled as to how and why she was in TN. She was born June 21, 1829 in Dallas Co, AL. I have not been able to locate the Sorell-Sorrelle-Sorelle name in any TN Census. Catherine was only 14 1/2 when they were married. This family had moved to TX by 1848.

Her husband, Elisha CHEEK is enumerated in the 1880 Federal Census of Clay Co NC with a different wife. Were Elisha and Sarah divorced in White County TN? If so, when? Sarah was first married to Sanford SWILLING and had two children by him, Mary Jane (married Eli B. Scott) and Samuel Swilling). Would like to contact a SWILLING descendant.
