To the best of my knowledge they were both born in White County, TN; however, they lived and reared their family in Putnam County, TN. Pa Cater's parents were J.P. JERNIGAN (1865-1905) (buried in Bloomington Springs TN) and Sally BARNES (1869-1936). I suspect that JP is a descendant of Lewis and/or Kedar JERNIGAN from NC.

Still looking for the ancestory of George W. MILLER who came to White Co. c.1815. He setteled and is buried at Miller Stand which is now in Cumberland Co. just outside of Crossville. His first wife was named Hannah as per White Co. Court Minutes. After
her death he married Neley _____(CONLEY) and had a daughter named Hannah b. 1838 and a son George Washington Miller b. 1839. He died Aug 2, 1839 and was born Sept 9, 1781. I would like to know if anyone has information on children by his first wife or who his parents, brothers or sisters might have been. These Millers are a fun group to

Green Patrick COOPER b. 1866 to Nancy J. STEWART and Thomas COOPER. Green Patrick died in 1949 and is buried in Ada, Oklahoma. Green Patrick married Nancy OLIVER in White County TN. Nancy OLIVER COOPER was the daughter of Burrell OLIVER b. March 16, 1839, d. March 17, 1915 and Frances Catherine SAYLORS OLIVER b. 1872, d. 1949. My ggmother, Mary Riscella(?) ROBERTS is listed as being born to Richard G ROBERTS and Elizabeth CROCKETT in Sparta, TN July 18, 1840. They moved to Nevada, MO then Bates County and later Vernon County in 1843. Does anybody know anything of these people? Thanks, Jack Magee .
