They had ten children in White County. Their son, Thomas Jefferson
BRYAN, moved to Livingston County, MO in 1832. Jane BURDEN , also of

Does anyone know of a transcript of the burials in Scott Cemetery
located in Scotts Gulf. I know my gg grandmother Saleta Scott and one

I'm trying to track down my EDMONDS family roots. My
great-grandfather was named G. W. EDMONDS. He may have lived in
White County at one point--the 1860 census lists a George W. EDMONDS
who was 4 years old at the time(this would be about the right age, as
my great-grandfather was born in about 1855). I know he moved to
Rhea County and married a woman named Barbara PORTER; my grandfather,
Thomas Azel EDMONDS, was born in Evensville, Rhea County, in 1882.

Seeking descendants of the block of "free colored" families that
migrated from Patrick Co., Va., to White Co., TN, in the 1820s-40s.
Especially interested in the descendants of Alexander Harris;
Cornelius Harris; William Rickman; John & Nancy Rickman; Nathan &
Sophia Rickman; Sarah Dungey; and Jeremiah Loggins. Many of these
folks moved on to Indiana in the 1840s-60s, although at least two
branches of the Rickmans were still in White as late as 1880.

to Elizabeth Ann SAYLORS.Elizabeth was b.c.1833 d.c.1880. Elizabeth

Why were the women that married Indians named Head of house and not

My grandfather, John Thomas BUMBALOUGH, was given a land grant in the
corners of White, Cumberland, and Putnam counties. He served during
the revolutionary war. He registered the deed in the state
comptrollers office in Nashville, which later burned. Where else

I am looking for info. Willie Randolph born about 1900 and his wife
Maude Simmons born in 1901. and they lived in White Co. Willie died
around 1939.and info.on Willie's parents, Parlee Randolph and her

I am looking for Samuel PEARSON / PIERSON, Sr. He was born in North
Carolina, came through Robertson County, and ended up in Bibb County,
Alabama. I found several PEARSONs in White County. Samuel had two

I am doing a family search on my grandfather, Paton Griffin Jones born
Sept. 24, 1893 in Sparta (White County), Tenn. His father was Issac

Andy (Andrew) HAMPTON was born btw. 1780-1190 in Rutherford NC, married Letitia SHARP about
1816-17. He died in White Co, TN about 1831-40. I know that Andrew Hampton Jr. (married to Ester
Price, also my Andrew's uncle) was in White Co and died about the same time. My
Andy and Letitia had the following Children: Jonathane L. b. 1818, William O. b. 1822, Emmeline b.

My g-g-g-g-grandfather Thomas CLARK and his wife Winiford MAHONEY
CLARK are both buried in the Old Sparta Cemetery. I have been told
that on his tombstone it indicates he was born in Germany. Could
someone please varify that for me. I have come to a deadend on trying
to get information as to who his parents were, when and where he was
born. Thomas and Winiford were married in VA. Also, I'm searching for a STEWART
who married my g-Aunt, Adah QUARLES. Adah was born 1885 and I am
under the assumption she and Mr. STEWART were married in White County.
Adah's mother was Lucy Ellen GARDENHIRE, the daughter of

Looking for descendants of John Vincent /Vinson /Vinsant family. He
was a twin born Jan. 1, 1800 in N.C. John married Blanche Unknown .
In 1850 Census for White Co. their children were Blancy A, Sarah C.,
John W., James Campbell, Nancy E. Malinda Josephine, and in 1860
another daughter Flora M. was added to the family.
The John Vincent family lived most of their lives in White Co., TN.
Our article was submitted to the White Co. Heritage Book. Check it

LEFTWICH in White and Cumberland Counties. Their children were Mary

Looking for information on the children of William ROGERS, who was born about 1780-90 in Chester
Co., SC, but later moved to Tennessee. William was the son of Clayton and Betridge SADLER
ROGERS. William supposedly had 14 children -- 4 daugthers and 10 sons. Of the 10
sons, 7 were supposedly Methodist ministers. The only offspring I know for certain about is my
great-grandfather, Jefferson C. Rogers, who was born in 1820 in Tennessee. Jefferson C.
married Nancy Adaline CARDER. They lived in Bledsoe County in 1850, later moved to
Smith, White and Wilson counties. He died in 1906 in Wilson County. There
was a William Rogers listed on the Maury County tax rolls in 1816 and in the 1820 census
rolls, and I'm wondering if this could have been my William or possibly one of his sons.
