I am looking for any information on Moliston Pettyjohn who was born
in Delaware circa 1757. He moved from there to Greenbriar Co., West VA
and from there to Kentucky and then to White Co., TN. While in
Madison County, KY he married (apparently a second marriage) Mrs.
Elizabeth Cotterell. He appears to be living with his son Samuel in

Hello! I have been trying to discover where my middle name came from.
I am Fred Buis Hembree, Jr. son of the late Fred Buis Hembree who
was born in White County, TN. I was named after my dad, who was born
on October 19, 1919. Before my dad died serveral years ago, he was
asked where his middle name of Buis came from. He said, he thought
it was after a person named Buis Barnes...but that he was not
certain. Also, I think I have a distant relative (now deceased)
named Fred Buis Denton as well. I would really like to know where

Martha BRUDTLY married Thomas SMOTHERS 1879 Crockett Co., TN. In one
place on the marriage record the name was spelled BRUNTLY. They were
in the 1880 Crockett Co., TN census; he was 27, she was 40. My

Looking for any info on FITCH and YOUNGMAN families. Believe Luhany,
Mary and Thomas YOUNGMAN children may have lived with FITCH family as

How can I find personal information on Maj. Ben Cunningham, a Union
soldier from White Co., who enlisted July 1, 1864, and was wounded at
Sulphur Trestle, AL., Sept. 25, 1864? Did he survive his wound? We
were surprised to see a familiar name serving the Union as we'd
thought all our ancestors served the Confederacy.
