BLACKBURN, MILLER

I am searching for Mary E. Miller, b 4 Feb 1868......looking for her family....parents/siblings. She md. E. B. Blackburn 12 Jan 1890 in White Co., TN.
She is my maternal great grandmother and I have nothing on her line whatsoever so any info would be most appreciated. I do know that they later went to Oklahoma, but I don't know when they left TN. E. B's father was John Ash Blackburn. I don't have much on him either, except he was a farmer and though he ended up in Oklahoma, it is possible that he went back to Sparta more than once......whether to live or just visit..I don't know.
I am keeping my fingers crossed as this line has never been researched beyond Mary. Thanks again.

PORTER

Samuel PORTER of White County, TN had the following Tennessee land grants:
Porter, Samuel (White) dated 1828, 50 acres, MTN district, book A, page 66, grant # 95
Porter, Samuel (White) dated 1831, 150 acres, XD district, book C, page 631, grant # 1996
MTN district is Mountain district, but what is XD district? And do these land grants relate to the TN land grants his father got earlier?
John Porter of White County, TN, father of Samuel Porter, Joshua Porter, and unknown others, got these grants.
Porter, John (White) dated 1821, 68 acres, G district, book R, page 20, grant # 15234
Porter, John (White) dated 1821, 68 acres, MTN district, book 9, page 20, grant # 15234
G district is supposed to be TN General district. Are the two 68 acres pieces of John Porter's different pieces of land, or the same one? When John Porter died in 1831, he had 300 acres of land in White County, TN, and an unspecified amount of land in Marion County, TN

POLK, WHITE, LEWIS, JOHNSON

If anyone has done a search of Pres.Polk's ancestors, and if so, where there any White, Johnson, or Lewis families connected with him. The story passed down thru the years was that the first night on the road from his home to Washington to assume the Presidency he stopped to spend the first night on the road at a cousins house.
