VAUGHN

I find a James VAUGHN and Beverly VAUGHN listed in the 1820 White County, Tennessee census. Could these two be the same James and Beverly that are mentioned in John VAUGHN's will, from Hawkins County, written in 1841? And if so, what happened to them after 1820?

In researching my g-great uncle, the name of WHITTEN was on his death certificate for his mother, Sarah Alice. My g-great father's death certificate didn't list her maiden name.
