I am searching for any information on John W ROBESON, believed to be
born around 1836. Father was from North Carolina Mother was from
South Carolina. I've tied this line back to White County because I
found Mt. Pisquah listed here and my grandmother mentioned going
there every year to visit the gravestones of family. John W Robeson
later married Amanda ? and moved to Madison Co., TN as last recorded
on the 1910 Census. Any information or guidance on locating my
gggrandfather and family would be most appreciated.

I would like to communicate with anyone who knows of or may be
researching Grinage ancestry. A number of Grinages relocated in Texas
in the mid 1800s who were born SOMEWHERE in Tennessee!
Joshua Grinage married Margaret Woodrum in 1867, Edmond Grinnage
married Nancy Bradberry in 1855 and Martha Grinnage married Thomas
Gates in 1848. Joshua, Edmond and Martha were born in TN as well as
most of their spouses according to censuses! All settled in Panola
County, TX. A number of Woodrum families lived 'next door'.

Looking for info. on Thomas PHILLIPS, b. 1788 or 1791 (in South
Carolina?), he married Elizabeth before 1815 (b. 1792 or 1797 in
Georgia). They settled in Overton County before 1840 but I'm not
sure where they were before that.
There is a Thomas Phillips on the White County 1820 Census, but I'm
not sure if this is the same one or if any of the other Phillips
listed (David, John, and Lewis) are related. Anyone with info. on
this family, I'd love to hear from you. Any clues or help is very
greatly appreciated!

Need info on Lewis Mills b:TN moved to Van Buren Co AR 1850. Think
tied to James Mills and William Mills in White Co. 1850 census.
Dwellings 1283-188 & 1281-188. Also any info on William K. Bradford
father of Nancy J. Bradford who, was possibly 1/2 Indian, and their
daughter Nancy Caroline who married Lewis Mills.

Does anyone know where a creek called Turtle Creek in White County is
located. I was told by a family member that his mothers mother 24
hour yeard old baby girl is buried at the end of a swinging bridge
that is near or goes over turtle creek. I do not beleive the grave is
marked with a headstone but it is marked with something small. If
anyone knows where this is or can take pictures of it for me it would

I would like information on a James WALLING born between 1790-1800.
He lived in White Co.,TN between his birth date until about 1830.
I also have a William CARTER b. abt 1770 VA that lived in White
County about the same time. William Carter moved south with his
family through Marion, AL according to the 1830 Census and on to
Itawamba Co.,MS according to the 1840 census where he died in 1841.
William Carter's son, William Carter b. 1810 (possibly White Co.!)TN
and his descendants moved from Itawamba Co., MS to Texas.
James WALLING and a descendant of William CARTER were found in the
1860 Census of Henderson Co.,TX. After James Walling moved to TX and
after his wife, Polly's death, James WALLING married William Carter
Sr's grand daughter, Emeline CARTER. In the 1860 census James was
listed as being 63 years old and Emeline was 25. James Walling lived
next door to William Carter b. 1810 and his family (including Emeline
Carter)in Henderson Co., TX prior to the marriage between James and
Emeline.

I need any info any might have on James Albert Bounds. I have been
told Thomas Bounds and Mary Isham were his parents but authors of The
Boundless Bounds don't have him listed as their offspring. He
married Alice Saphronia Dodson and remarried when she died. Alice

1850 White county James Adair is 63 born in SC with several of his
children. Also living with them is Thomas Pettit age 85 born in VA.
James's wife was Margarett probably daughter of Thomas Pettit. Living
near is the family of Lewis Pettit age 49 who may be a son of Thomas.
Adairs & Pettits have been in White co. as early as 1814. Looking for
parents/siblings of both James Adair and Thomas Pettit.

I am looking for information on the early KINNARD families of White
County, TN. Especially for a John and William KINNARD who appear in
early court records. Also looking for information on a David KINNARD
born abt 1823, he married JUDITH HOWARD in White Co. TN. They had
atleast 4 children: Celina, Margaret, John, and Nancy. Both parents

I am researching NICHOLAS and BOHANNON in White Co. TN. Jonathan
Nicholas b. 1813 m. Elizabeth Bohannon b. 1822 were married in White
Co. TN July 24, 1838. We also list that Jonathan married a Nancy in
1845. Henry M. Nicholas was b. in Oct.8, 1840. Are these people
familiar to anyone? Henry's daughter, Cordelia Sarah Nicholas married
my husband's grandfather, William H. Cooper.

Ussery and Thomas Pearson/Pierson/Person are found in White Co. Tn @
1820. Would these be related to Abel Pierson/Pearson?? Has anyone

found a Caleb in 1850 of Tishmingo MS 1850 with a son Ussery. I have

Looking for G.Grandfather RILEY R. JOHNSON, born in Illinois, may
have died by a falling tree 1872, state unknown. He married MARY
CLARK in TN. They had 3 sons, Melvin, John Newton, and RILEY R.
JOHNSON. Riley was born 9 April 1872, in state of Illinois. He married
Arminta Lollar July,1901 in Sparta,TN. It is assummed that MARY CLARK
moved back to Jackson Co. TN with her sons after her husband was

Looking for info on a Richard KIRBY who married a Polly (Possibly
TINDLE) from White Co.,TN and lived there from before 1833 when
children were born : Sarah,
Jasper,Nancy, Goula Ann, Shepherd, Thomas, Wyatte T.,James D.. This
couple moved to Johnson Co.,AR where John, David, and Elizabeth were
