Hello! Looking for information on a James KINNARD who married a Mary
(aka Polly) HILL. James was born abt 1817. His mother is suspected
to be named Sarah. There may be a connection to the family of John
PENNINGTON as they are residing in his household in the 1860 Putnam
Co. TN census. There is also a son David KINNARD who married Judith
HOWARD in White Co. TN. They had four children: Margaret, Nancy,
John, and Celina. It appears that David and Judith died young and
the children were raised by the grandmother, Sarah Kinnard. These
families apparently lived in White and Putnam counties. Any help on
any of these families would be wonderful! Thanks!!

the 25th Tenn INF until 1862 and was discharged because he was under
18. He rode with Dibrell until his horse died and could not get a new

in Jackson Co in Feb 1864 and sent to Camp Chase. He took the Oath to
US before Lee surrendered, about 20 Jan 1865. His record says that he
was taken at home because " his house was a depot for stolen goods
