I am looking for any information about Jeremiah BENNETT and his wife
Pheobe who appear in the 1840 and 1850 White County, TN Census. In
the 1860-1880 Pheobe appears in Putnam County, TN census. They had
these children according to census records Margaret C., Jackson H.,
Rachel E., Jerucia L., Eliza J., John W., & Inga B. BENNETT. If
anyone has any infromation on this family it would be greatly

Am looking for adoption record for an infant girl born 31 Jul
1853/54 to a family named RENFROE. She was adopted by Joseph J. HINDS and Parthena COOK,
supposedly in Cherry Creek, TN. Census records indicate the infant girl, later named
Lucretia HINDS, was born in Glen Alice, Roane Co., TN. I do not know why the adoption would take
place in Cherry Creek, but that is the only lead I have. Also, many records for Roane and
Bledsoe Counties were lost or destroyed.

JORDAN, James Thomas; HINDS, Lucretia; RENFROE, Lucretia. Lucretia
RENFROE was born 31 Jul 1853 in Glen Alice, Roane Co., TN. She was adopted by Joseph
Hinds in Cherry Creek. Lucretia married James Thomas JORDAN 12 Sep 1872 in Roane Co.
Their 5th child, Ida Grace JORDAN, was born 2 Jun 1893 in White Co., so they were
living in White Co. in 1893. Both James and Lucretia died in Van Buren Co. and are buried in
the First United Methodist Church in Cummingsville. They are my g-grandparents. I'm
trying to find out more about Lucretia, specifically the names of her birth parents,
where they were from, names of her siblings, etc. THANK YOU in advance for any help you

I am looking for information on the family of Daniel Merrill
White(usually referred to as Merrill in census)and Laura Lee Carder.
Both of them were born in White County - Merrill in 1860 and Laura in
1866. They were married in White County in 1880 - moved to Texas
between 1881 and 1890. I think Merrill's parents were Milton White
and Susan Herd, but not sure. Laura was listed in 1880 census as a
stepdaughter of Levi Haines. Any information is deeply appreciated.

I am looking for any and all information on Matthew MCCLAIN(MCCLANE,

I am looking for all available information on Francis "Frank" L.
RASCOE of White and Van Buren Counties. Bone Cave and Spencer are
the locations known. His father was John RASCOE ,Jr. and mother

I am in search of Elihue Dooley's father, I believe to be William and
mother is uncertain, from White County, Tenn. Elihue was born in
White Co. approx 1818.
ENOCH DOOLEY. Among the progressive farmers who have been
successfully engaged in the pursuits of agriculture in Macoupin
County is the gentleman named above, who resides on his farm of 80
acres situated in section 25, Brushy Mound township. He was born June
20, 1861, on the old Dooley homestead, and is a son of Elihu and
Susan (Bagby) Dooley.
Elihu Dooley was born in White County, Tennessee, in 1818, and came
to Macoupin County when he was 17 years of age. Upon his leaving
Tennessee, he first located in Greene County, Illinois, where he
engaged as a farm hand working by the month. After accumulating a
sufficient sum he purchased the land on which our subject now lives,
which then consisted of about 900 acres. He married Susan Bagby, who
was born March 14, 1837, and to them 10 children were born, namely:

I am looking for a WEBB connection in White Co. to a JOSEPH WEBB b.
1810-1811 in TN. that had migrated to TX between 1850 & 1860. It is
not known for sure when he left White Co., TN. but there is
indication he left 1835-1836 and possibly went to Warren Co. TN and
was in McMinn Co. in the 1840's. He was listed on the 1850 census in
Benton Co. AL.
Joseph is thought to have a brother named Robert b. <1827> TN. I'm
sure there are other siblings but names are not known. Joseph married
Mary (possibly Dye/Dyer) but not sure it was in White Co. They had
children named Margaret, James, David, Ellen, Amanda and Nancy. Mary
had possibly been married before and had a daughter or younger sister
living with her and Joseph named Eliza. I believe Joseph could be a
son of William WEBB living in White Co. TN according to the 1820-1840
census records. William WEBB was born <1760-1770> and died after
1840.
Any information or suggestions with this WEBB family would be greatly
appreciated.

I truly have a brick wall in John R. TAYLOR. He is my GGGgrandfather.
I have records showing that he came into Texas around 1834/35 and
resided in Nacogdoches area and then in the Northeast Texas area
around Upshur Co. He married an Elizabeth "Betsey" Nelson (d.o.
William Nelson) in Oct. 1836. Betsey is listed as having been born in
TN (29 March 1815 in Tennessee ...don't know what county and died 17
July 1900 in Upshur Co. Texas) . I have found handwritten notes that
allege that John R.was from White Co. TN but no verification. He was
born 28 Feb. 1805/07 and died 8 Nov. 1854.in northeast Texas.
according to his gravemarker. Having checked census records online
for White Co. there are several Taylor families that could connect to
John R. but I'm at a loss as to sorting them. Any information or
nudges as to other sources of information would be appreciated.
