NETHERTON

I am searching for any information or descendants of James NETHERTON. He is listed in the White county census of 1820. I am wondering if he may be the father of Hosa Lafayette NETHERTON which is my great-grandfather. I have heard that Hosa was born in Icy Cove, Tennessee and I cannot locate any information on this place. I believe that Hosa Lafayette NETHERTON was born somewhere around 1850-1860 so the age of James NETHERTON would be about right. I would appreciate any information anyone can supply me with.

CLOUSE, BUMBALOUGH

My husband's CLOUSE and BUMBALOUGH ancestors are from White County. I found the following quote from a book about the CLOUSE family. My question is: what event took place on March 27, 1888 in Board Valley that resulted in all these people dying? (Begin quote) On August 25, 1879, a deed was made to John by the heirs of John Bumbalough, Sr. for 144 acres, adjacent Isaac Bumbalough. Recorded Book "O" Page #440. The heirs were: W. C. and Lucinda Bumbalough, John F., Jr., and D.D. Bumbalough, F.M. Bumbalough. It was on this farm that the sawmill sat where my grandfather William met his death along with John's son William Thomas, and two or three others, on March 27, 1888. This was in the Beech Grove Community of Board Valley. (end quote)
