believe James SIKES b1794 NC, lived here in 1820, before moving on;
Howell SIKES sells 9 1/2 A in 1820, but shows up in Lincoln, TN in
1820. Howell's son Singleton SIKES b 1816 marries Margaret HILTON

ELIAS WALLIS/WALLACE - born in Caswell Co., NC around 1750, came to
White Co with family around 1795, lived in Hickory Valley area. Was
married to a Mary, his Mother also may have been a Mary. Elias 9
children - my branch is son Laban. I was told that a publication
(book I think) states that their was cousins of Laban's living in
White Co of Laban. So that would either be a sibling to Elias or his
wife Mary. The boys all had similar names. I need information on
Elias' parents - and anything on the siblings - I have all that
Ancestry.com has, hoping someone has information in a draw somewhere.
Thanks,

Am searching for information on Zebedee Seals. I am trying to
determine if he is the father of Burrell Seals b. ~1823 who later
married Elizabeth b. 1817 and had several daughters. I believe two
daughters to be born in Tennessee. The others were born in Arkansas.
From a mere process of elimination I believe that Zebedee was
Burrell's father. Would like to determine if this is true or if
there is other information as to who his father might be.
His will was filed upon his death (1839) and am hoping someone can do
a lookup to see if any children are listed in the will. Any help at
all would be greatly appreciated.

BUTLER, HOLMES. My great great grandfather was WELCOME BUTLER, born
1825 in Jackson County, Tennessee. His wife was Sarah HOLMES. We
think that Welcome is a son of BAILEY Jr. b. 1803 AND CYNTHIA BUTLER.
Welcome and Sarah moved to Southern Illinois at the same time as
Bailey and Cynthia and lived about 6 miles apart across the county
line from each other between Franklin and Perry county. Bailey and
Cynthia also had sons William Sargeant, Jasper, Newton and James.
Two of them died in Andersonville. Jackson County TN 1830 census
records show Bailey Jr. b. 1803 with 3 sons under 5 and 2 between 5
and 10. Do you have any information on this Welcome Butler? He died
before 1870 as Sarah remarried to ELIJAH VANCIL in 1870.
Bailey 1847s burial records state father as Welk Butler and Mother as
Sarah Holmes Butler. I have family accounts and newspaper articles
of Sarah’s obit that state that Bailey 1847 and Lucinda were brother
and sister. Also 2 other daughters were listed in the obit. One by

My 3rd great grandfather is William Lewis died 1812 in White Co., Tn.
It has been reported he married Mary John, dau of Thomas John in
Loudoun Co., Va. However, I have a Harris line also that is from
Loudoun Co., Va. They were Quakers.
I have found two records in Loudoun County, Va that gives the will of
Thomas John died 1770/71 and names his daughter Mary as wife of
William Harris, Jr (not William Lewis). There is also the will of
William Harris, Jr. in Loudoun County in 1783 that names his wife
Mary. Plus a deed 1754 of Samuel Harris and wife Mary in the presence
of Thomas John. Unless there is another Mary John, dau of Thomas John
the ones in Loudoun Co., Va did not marry William Lewis that died
1812 in White Co., Tn. If anyone has an interest in this family
please email me.
