HYDER

I have a copy of a diary written by my great, great grandfather William Barton Hyder at various times between April, 1891 and September, 1904. In it he references a town named Elaxander in White County as a headquarters for his Union Army regiment. I can find no record of a town there with that name. Is this name correct? Thank you.

Trying to connect Jacob CERTAIN to CERTAINs in Tenn. Census research shows he was born in Tenn(about 1809) He lived and died(between the 1860 & 1870) in Huntsville, AL. I'm looking for information on when Hillsboro, TN was founded and where it got its name. Family lore suggests that Sarah Hill (b. 1775?), who married Baxter Baker and was living in White Co. as of the 1820 census, was born in Hillsboro and the town was named after her family. Looking for Thomas Hodge who married Nancy Proctor 9-29-1858 in White Co, Ga. They had four children: William (my ggrandfather),born 1857; died 1925 in Gaston Co, NC; Mary Hodge, born 1853, Ansebell Hodge, Born 1861 and Elizabeth Hodge, born 1863. Per census in White Co & Habersham Co in 1860/1870 Nancy Proctor Hodge was living with children. No mention of Thomas. Nancy's parents were William & Nancy Proctor per earlier White Co/Habersham Co census. Per 1920 census for William Thomas Hodge, Thomas Hodge may have moved to Tenn. Am at dead end. AMZI / EMZY WARREN, SARAH FERGUSON

I'm looking for information regarding Amzi WARREN (1828-1889) Humphreys County, Tennessee. He served in the Tenth Tennessee Cavalry, Company E, and was imprisoned at Rock Island, Illinois (1863-1865). He married Sarah S. FERGUSON (1846-1910) on 27 December 1867, but had a first wife who died during the War, name unknown. I would appreciate any help.
