ELMORE

Looking for a long lost relative, possibly. My grandfather, Ambrose Bramblett ELMORE fathered a child by a woman of the last name of WOODS. It would have been somewhere between 1880 and 1920. I know, this is a long shot, and a great span of years, but he lived to be 83, outliving 3 of his 4 wives and fathering children by 3 of the wives. The last wife was my grandmother and he fathered 5 children with her, the last one being born in 1938. I do not know a first name of the WOODS lady, but I do know he went back to try to see her and the child and a neighbor told him she had married someone the man was raising the child as his. If anyone has any information on this I would appreciate it. My mom has a long lost brother out there, possibly alive. But what she recalls her father telling her was the child was a son and we all have not a clue as to a first name. Thanks for any help I get on this. It was in Carthage, TN.

BILLINGS

My great, great grandmother was Mary C. Cutler Colwell/Caldwell Billings. She was born in Dekalb County, TN. She married James W. Billings and they and their combined family (it was a second marriage for both Mary and James) are in White County, TN on the 1880 census.

I have found James and some of his children on the 1900 census in NE but not Mary. Did she die in TN and if so, when and where was she buried?
