I am interested in anything you can find for me on the families of
Abner Norris, Thomas NOrris, David Norris, and Absalom Norris, John
NOrris, and I believe there is an Ephraim Norris located there in
White County. I have never understood his relationship to the other
Norrises mentioned. Also, any relationship or connection between
Norris and Bohannon, the family of William Bohannon from VA. Abner's
daughter Sarah was supposed to have married William's boy Elijah. The
Norris family settled in White County, went to Bledsoe then
Cumberland counties.

All three surnames refer to the hometown Quebeck, TN.
My questions are: when, why and who this place has been given its
present time name: Quebeck?
So for,I've through sources like: Larry L. Miller book on TN Place
Names, the document "The Caney Fork of Cumberland. I know that this
site started in 1887, had a post office in 1889 under the name
Holder, that James and William Cooper added the letter k at the end of Quebec,
that place being my own hometown. Is there more to be found in
order to have a relation between both these two places: a Canadian one and
a US one. Had there been immigrants from Canada, or New England States (where
so many "French Canadians" migrated from...? Had there been some
Canadians who volunteered or were soldiers during any war such as the
1812-14 War or the Civil War and would have stayed in USA
after?
Thank to those people helping to find accurate and precise answers.

Galton in about 1844. They are buried in the Saylors Cemetery in
White County Tennessee. I have census records from 1850 until 1900
that places them in White County. But no record that say Jane's
maiden name was GALTON. Jane died in 1905. any help would be

Our family has been told by word of mouth that the family originally
came from
Tennessee. The location is supposed to be near Sparta, but that may
be inaccurate. We
now live in Arkansas. The spelling of STUART is disputed. Some
think the spelling is
STUEART, others say it is STUART, while others claim STEWART. The
migration must have
taken place around the 1830s or 1840s. Popular first names are:
Samuel, William,
Kester, Orval, James. My mother's family came from Tennessee also,
their last name is
COOLEY and popular first names were Issac, Howard, Alton, Eldon.
