I am looking for people researching Peter KERR, Joseph KERR and James
KERR; Peter in White Co by 1811, Joseph by 1812 and James by 1819.
All 3 may have been there much earlier. These dates are dates from
White Co Minute Books. I believe this is the same James and Joseph
KERR that received NC land Grants in 1788. Any info would be most
appreciated. I will have a follow up post. Thank you. Peggy Gunter

My ancestor William Price married an Elizabeth (Mary) Matlock abt.
1845-48 in White County, TN. I suspect William's father's name was
John L. Price, because that is the name he gave his son. I don't
know anything about Elizabeth (Mary's) family. I would like to connect with anyone who might have knowledge of the
families of these people.

Joseph F. HUFFMAN / HOFFMAN b.abt. 1812 TN, and Sarah M. RICHARDSON
b.1814 TN, according to censuses in TN and Fannin County TX, were my
gg gparents. They moved to TX in the mid 1800s. I have no concept of
who their parents were and anything beyond them and what scant
records that I have for Joseph in White County. There was also a
Christoph(er) HUFFMAN there about the same time. Related,
connection?????
The 1850 White County census also lists a Jane GUYMON, age 36 b. TN,
in the household of Joseph and Sarah, perhaps Sarah's sister?
If anyone can shed some light on this would so deeply appreciate it!

Researching family and descendants of Elijah DeROSSETT, born about
1788 in Virginia, and died about 1862, possibly in West TN. He was in
White Co., TN by 1811 and in the area that became White County even
earlier. Known children were: George W., Mary A. "Polly", John
(Moses?), Samuel, Marvel R. "Marv", Byram, William Carroll, Ester
Ann, and Elias. John returned to White Co., TN after serving in the
Confederacy during the Civil War. It is believed Elijah has many
descendants there today. I would enjoy exchanging information with
anyone interested in the DeRossett family in White County, TN or
elsewhere. My husband is a descendant of Elijah's son and John's
brother ... Marv DeRossett, married to Myra Holloway.
